Saw it again--made up a couple more jokes to go with it:

When R2D2 gets kicked by the super battle droid:

Droid: hey, I put in my money! gimme my soda! *kicks*

Then spliced into the scene where R2 fights the 2 super battle droids.

R2D2: here's yer soda ya *insert random cuss here* *sprays oil everywhere*

back in episode II my friends and I started a Anakin's Ways to Freak Out Women and well I just saw III and he hasn't let us down yet.

"255..."" -- this is us in the movie theater.

personally it wasn't particulary my style but it was better than the first two. I like the older ones better. And I can't stand Obi Wan for some reason I have yet to figure out. I hate JarJar. (thats pretty random but wtf) and my favorite character of all was Qui-Gon Jinn, and look where he is.

but I did like it, although Haden is a pretty boy his acting could improve.

Obi-wan: how could you sleep with my wife! We were like brothers!

Anakin--I was HIGH dude.

Obi-wan: So what!? I drank a bottle of vodka at your house and i didn't **** your MOM!

I love you Hunter!

Well I know most of you hated the dialogue and the story and Anakin's conversion to the dark side and whatever else...

But think about it, what else was Lucas supposed to do?

How would making the dialogue between Anakin and Padme better help the story any?
And can you think of anything they could have said to each other that would have sounded better and made sense with the story?

The gruesomeness of Anakin's defeat..
The movie WAS rated PG-13.. so if the kids happen to see it, that's the parent's problem, not the movie's.

The "15-second" transfiguration of Anakin...
Yeah, I agree it was a little too quick of a decision to be called a NORMAL decision, but why else would he switch to the dark side without making him seem completely evil? (Remember, in Episodes IV-VI, he "still has good left inside" and saves his son at the end)

R2D2's stunt with the tar and fire...
For one, R2D2's always had the fire jets on the sides.. I specifically remember one part in Episode II in the droid factory where he had to use them.. but your right about the oil spray thing.

But, I DO agree with the Frankenstein Drama Scene being sort of cheesy and I DO agree that some parts the acting could have improved.

On a personal level, I really didn't like the part with the children slaughtering on Anakin's part.. that's just too evil.

Ohhh and the part at the end where Owen and Beru are holding Luke together and watching the sunset with the music playing... one of best endings i've ever seen in a movie.

Oh yeah, th sunset bit was absolutely beautiful. I watched it a second time, and got all misty eyed. If you listen carefully, you'll hear some of the exact same music from the orignal movie when Luke is staring off into the twin sunset.

And where he kills the kids, that was the whole point. I didn't think his decision was too quick. Considering how desparate and afraid he was, plus being influenced so strongly by Palpatine, it seemed natural for him to change the way he did. Most of the steps are so subtle you have to really think about them to notice them.

Personally, I can think of a at least a few screenwriters who could have taken the exact same story and used completely different dialogue, which would have made it twice as good. But lets not forget how picky I am about dialogue. Some books and movies, no matter how good they are in every other way, die for me because of bad dialogue.

I think some of the reasons they critisize the acting and the dialogue, particularly Samuel L Jackson, is because they don't understand Jedi. We've all seen him in other movies, and we know what he can do. If you understand the way Jedi are, you can tell that he played Mace Windu like that on purpose. And the Jedi characters talk the way they do because thats the way Jedi are.

Although why that kid said "There's too many of them" instead of something like "The soldiers tried to kill us. They're everywhere" I have no idea. I think George just likes to use that line.

The point is he never displays them in the original three episodes, which are supposedly after Episode II and III. So you'd assume he'd use them there sometime.

Am I the only one who thought Anakin's change to the Dark Side (I can't believe I hust wrote that...) was actually quite well done?
It's been going on since Episode Two... I mean, how drawn out did you need the change to be?
I wrote the above just for you.

I actually liked the movie.

The part I liked less was the Frankestein scene (so cliche) but the only thing that really sucked was the fact that Anakin isn't handsome anymore in the end (the eye wants something too ...).

Just because artoo didn't use those abilities doesn't mean he didn't have them in the original trilogy. I really can't think of any time in them where it would have been useful.

And I did think Anakin crossing over was handled very well, if you'll see my previous post.

i thought Anakin's change to the dark side was stunningly well done. I especially liked the scene right after Anakin cuts off Mace Windu's saber arm, where he's renamed. His eyes started getting really loopy and dialated. I thought it was cool. And yes, his face was so beautiful before it got burned. I also thought the dialogue and acting were good. The saddest part for me is when Anakin chokes Padme, and how he yells at her and Obi-Wan. That was devastating.

The number of arms and hands cut off in both Star Wars trilogies: 12

A New Hope: 1
The Empire Strikes Back: 2
Return of the Jedi: 1
The Phantom Menace: 0
Attack of the Clones: 2
Revenge of the Sith: 6

Yes, I am an ubergeek, and damn proud of it!

No wonder the Phantom Menace was the worst one!
