William:

as he stepped out of the theater, the sun hitting his eyes, Kat, the other girl, Andy's friend, was kinda out of connection with everyhting, if you had asked her what the movie was about, she probably wouldnt know what you were talking about... who knows...

**lets spice this story up a bit, no?**

as william is silently debating his new-found comrades, a truck, large and dark, the back tires burst, the truck spins out of control, heading straight for the small group,

"MOVE!" shouts William, and, they look up, and dive out of the way, but Kat, who seemed stunned, like a deer in the headlights, he dives at her, pushing her out of the way, and at the last moment, when the truck should have hit him, he is gone, suddenly five feet away.

nobody but him knew what the cane did, at least, he didnt think they did, but they all knew that no human should have been able to move that fast.

After checking to see that the driver of the truck was OK, Davis walked over to William, and said, his voice low,

"What the hell just happened?"

Kat

"Oh my god! We just had two lives saved today!" she said so shocked that she couldn't even giggle at the comment.

Davis walked swiftly up to William.

"What the hell just happened?" he asked gruffly.

William looked nervous for the first time, being under such pressure.

"Well, the truth is,...", he paused, looking down at his feet before continuing.

William

"Well, the truth is," he starts, then stops himself

"yes?"

"Im not sure that" I should tell you people this, seeing as how i dont know you all that well, but I think you deserve to know after what just happened,"
he continues,

He picks up his cane, (which he uses, and has a need of, since he injured his leg when he was younger) and shows it to them,

"this cane has saved my life on more than one occasion, for it gives me the power to teleport myself to any place that I can see..."

Davis:

"You have one?!?!" to say he seemed surprised would be an understatement. Davis looked down at his watch. and set the time back a few seconds only long enough that he could seem less shocked.

"What, teleporting is imposable." he said as if he didn't believe what he had heard.

Kat

"Hey, could my gloves and this mirror have something special about them?" she asked, handing over the mirror and causing the gloves to cover up her nails once more.

She peeled off her gloves and handed them to him too. Everyone gaped as her tall, beautiful image shrank and she became her regular ordinary self. She looked over at Davis, expecting him to be angry that she hadn't told him about her real looks and after a long pause, she was shocked to see him smile and walk over to her, laughing a bit.

"Is this how you really look?" he chuckled, asking the question that no doubt all the others, besides Andy, had been wanting to ask.

Kat's mouth made a perfect little 'o' in her astonishment and Davis laughed even harder, which helped everyone else loosen up and giggle a bit. Kat laughed a little too and nodded her head.

"Yes, I'm certain that these gloves and this mirror, when put together, will allow the wearer to change his or her appearance," William said, taking his eyes off the gloves and mirror and looking around at them all.

William:

he looks at them... and smiles,

"so we all have secrets dont we?" he says

he decides not to reveal his other objects at the moment... it really doesnt matter to them, and it may be wise NOT to tell them everything...

"Now what do we do?" he asks them...

**by the way, have we decided what the issue is with this story? whats the conflict?, maybe ill start a antagonist character...**

Kat

"Oh, um, Davis wanted to show me something so you guys can do whatever and I'll meet you all there," Kat said, a little nervous.

"Do you have your cell on you?" Andy asked, holding up her own.

Kat rolled her eyes exaggeratedly. "Yes mom!" she said, showing her the phone.

"Good... because there's somewhere I need to be too." Andy didn't wave -- which in itself was strange -- as she set off with long, regular strides down the path, her feet beating against the pavement with every heavy, determined step. The sun was starting to dip below the horizon and a cloud passed over-head as Andy crossed the street so that she was shrouded in shadow, her hair appearing almost black against the darkened sky.

"Hey... wait... what about your wallet?" William called after her, his tone curious and just a touch frantic. Would he see her again? Have this chance again?

Andy paused, her back straight and feet apart. There was no wind to tug at her hair and yet it flickered out like a reptile's tongue, grasping at the air before falling still again. "Not now," she said, "I'll call you and we can meet again some other time." She began to walk again.

"But my number -"

"- is in my phone." Andy flashed a brief grin over her shoulder but it did not reach her eyes which were shrouded with an inner-darkness, filled with hidden thoughts.

Andy set off again and walked quickly, striding straight to the hospital and it wasn't until then that she raised her head and smiled; a faltering, nervous smile. This could be a big mistake.

Kat

"What was that about?" Davis asked, looking to her for the answer.

Kat sighed. "I'm pretty sure that I know what upset her but I can't tell you," she said, averting her eyes from his gaze to the ground.

"We'll meet you guys at Yesterday's Memories around 6 o'clock," Davis said.

William handed Kat back her gloves and mirror and he and Tim turned and walked away. Kat had put on the gloves and soon her more beautiful form took place, but she kept her eyes on her feet.

"Let's just go to the park now," she whispered, barely audible. Davis nodded and she looked up, her eyes brimming with tears and her gorgeous face unbaribly glum. Davis slowly reached out and held her hand, gently squeezing it, which made her smile a bit as her tears spilled over and ran tracks down her porcelain cheeks.

Kat

They walked silently through Central Park, glaning shyly at each other every so often. Finally Davis spoke.

"Is your friend Andy gonna be okay Kat?" he murmured.

Kat nodded, feeling a little better. "She should be fine."

A few moments of awkward silence once again passed between them. Davis once again broke the silence.

He sighed. "I guess you wonder where I got this scar. Well,..."

Andy didn't recognise the short, chubby receptionist at the desk with her bleach-blonde hair pulled back in a tight, high ponytail and her grey eyes framed by half-moon spectacles.

"May I help you?" she asked in a gruff but warm voice, peering over the desk, her head raised high so that she could make eye contact.

"I'm here to see Cady. The girl who got hit by the car... I'm a friend of hers." Andy looked up down at the woman sadly. It had been almost a month since the accident and Andy had visited less and less frequently but now, now there was a chance she could help.

"You realise miss Merivel's condition has deteriorated and she is now in a coma?" The receptionist spoke carefully after consulting her notes though that really wasn't necessary; everyone at the hospital knew of poor Cady's condition. At the most a few more days, poor thing.

"Yes. I'd still like to see her though." The receptionist looked surprised but glanced at the clock mounted on the opposite wall and nodded.

"Alright then. Visiting hours are almost over but you can stay a few minutes."

"Thank you," Andy said, not bothering to wait for the directions; she knew where the ward was.

The room was small but private with a window at the far end that allowed a thin stream of evening light to wash across the bed where the young girl lay, her chest rising and falling gently to the hum of machinery that kept her alive. Occasionally her eyelids would flicker, as they did now while Andy entered the room, but there were no other signs of life.

"Hello Cady," Andy grinned somewhat sadly as she walked over, taking the crucifix from around her neck. "I hope you'll forgive me if this doesn't work. Didn't mean to get your hopes up but I did promise, didn't I?"

William:

feeling ridiculous, William had followed Andy to the hospital, where she had asked to see a friend, and using his cane, he telported himself, right by the receptoionist desk, so that no-one noticed him enter, as he followed Andy, he heard her whispering to her friend, as she took out a crucifix,

Davis:
"...well you see, me and one of my old friends where all out down by the train tracks. There was this homeless guy there who had fallen and would have been hit by a train had, i not saved him..." davis said trying to sound as humble as possible.
" wow, really?" Kat asked smiling.
"well, yea but thats not how i got the scar. So we were hanging out with him and he gave me this watch, he said it had magic... i wasn't sure if i believed him but i excepted the gift and went on my merry way. Anyway later i found out he was right about the watch, so i thought i would give it a test... long short short i ended up jumping my bike off the second story roof of my house and into the pool and that is how i got the scar." he said laughing.
kat smiled. wow she has a beautiful smile Davis thought.
"oh, wanna see some thing really cool?" he asked, " I know this hill that has an amazing view of the lake."

Kat

She smiled as they walked hand in hand up the hill, chuckling to herself from Davis's story.

"You're right! The view is absolutely gorgeous!" Kat gasped, soaking in the beautiful scenery in front of her.

"I know, that's why I brought you here," Davis murmured, barely louder than a whisper.

He stepped closer to her and sealed the short gap in between them. He cupped his hand under her chin and before she knew it, their lips met and she was kissing Davis. She couldn't think at all as she stood there on the mountain, kissing a man she barely knew.
