[pre] [/pre]I hate American Idol. The festering stinkpot that has found its way into American culture makes me sick. We are lead to believe that this is an actual competition between real kids who just want a chance to make it big. We aren't told however that there are always screamers planted in the audience, and a Fox hired professional in the lineup. The show is nothing more than a dying network's last gasp of air before it goes under. While it may seem as though they've managed to grab on to a life preserver, for the time being, its at the cost of the already tainted image of American media, and tarnishes the 'good' image of pop culture in the United States.
[pre] [/pre]American Idol, when it began, was a good idea. They round up these non professional kids with talent, have them sing, and the best one wins a record deal. Unfortunately after the first 6 episodes, American Idol became nothing more than American Trash. Putting itself on par with programs like Jerry Springer, and tabloid journalism.
[pre] [/pre]CNN, several days ago, spent long hours on the topics of Micheal Jackson, Precous Doe, and the office building shooting in Huston. Fox news, and News at Nine, both Fox programs, ran a story about American Idol and Paula Abdule. ABC, questing for ratings dropped one lower, and made Paula Abdule center of attention. Proving, in my mind at least, that these 'news' prgrams are better suited to the names Faux News and American Brainless Corp.
