Exactly, but you would think that fans of complete pop music like that which is on the Idol shows would take appearance into account. With rock bands and that sort of music, it doesn't matter whatsoever, but the Idol contestants are totally marketed. That's the sort of "music" it is. And appearance is a vital aspect of that sort of marketing.
Appearance has nothing to do with the CD itself. Appearance is what sells music videos, posters, all the memorabelia that the preformer can be seen in. But for CDs and Tshirts, its all about the talent.
Idol contestents are marketed because it improves ratings. If you'll notice, only one of the contesntants is marketed, thats the guy they want you to vote for.

I don't see why everyone liked Anthony. He was boring. I mean, yeah he was good compared to a majority of people; he had to be to make it on in the first place. But he just doesn't have any performing quality or anything.
Personally, I think this whole American Idol hate is stupid. So what if it's fake? Who cares? Or are you jealous?
Yeah American Idol is stupid but it's so addictive, I tell ya! I hate pop music with a passion but yet...I found myself watching American Idol. However, I only watched this pass season when Bo was singing. Nothing else. Once he was done, I left the room.
Carrie did not deserve to win. In MY eyes, she's a LO-SER. Yeah, she could sing but she just looks like a wannabe blonde Kelly Clarkson or a wannabe Jessica Simpson. Ugh. I just don't like her. Bo was awesome no matter what you American-Idol-Haters say. If you didn't see Bo preform...you just missed out on the sneak preview of a LEGEND. Well, maybe not THAT far but...yeah...
I agree with you 100%. When I ofund out she won, I went into our living room which is now echo-y because its empty and we're getting it painted and new flooring, and I screamed.
Wow, I thought I was the only one who thought Carrie looked like Kelly Clarkson. But yeah, she deserved to win. She can sing better than any of the other contestants. Bo was awesome, too, though, and I wouldn't have been surprised or upset if he won. I still think Lindsey is the hottest though.
