Aurora:

I felt selfish asking him to ride with me. "No...It's okay." I smiled. "Just as long as you aren't flirting with other girls, I'm okay with it." I tried to smile. It didn't seem to work all the way.

Tristan:

I clenched my fists. She was a horrible monster! I went back to Lilith. An hour later everyone was standing in the center of the court, excited murmurs. The courtiers mounted their horses.

"Tristan!" I heard the Queen call. I groaned and looked at Lilith. I rode over to her.

"Yes." I said tightly, and intentionally forgetting the formal greeting.

"I want you to ride beside me."

"How could I refuse?" I asked sarcastically.

*haha, thanks for that, this'll be fun!*

Faede-

"I know you can't. I have a mare for you," I said, and one of my knights brought the black horse forwards. "I take it you can ride?" I asked. He nodded curtly.

I pulled my gloves on, and my handmaiden handed me my quiver and my bow and I slung them on, mounted and smiled at Tristan.

"You'll enjoy this," I told him.

Owen-

"Goodbye then," I said, giving her a quick kiss and flying up to where the other sprites were nestling in the trees, anxious to take off. Asteria sat braiding her hair, I hovered nearby and bit my tongue before I offered help, remembering my promise to Aurora.

Tristan:

I was pretty sure she was delusional. "What twisted world do you live in that you think I would enjoy such a horror as this?" I asked bitterly. I did not like this, at all! She laughed. It grated against every bone in my body. I clinched and unclinched my fists. The only good thing about this was that I got to ride.

Aurora:

I sighed and mounted my horse. I felt lonely without Owen nearby. I knew I was probably being an idiot lettung him go off, but I was sure he loved me. and he knew the concicouncences of flirting with all those other girls.

*SORRY! I kept meaning to, and then it went blank out of my head!*

Owen-

Asteria turned to me. "How are you Owen?" she asked. "Ready for the hunt?"

I shrugged. "You know I love a good game."

"Hey, do you think you could help me?" she said, those words I had been dreading. She turned her back to me.

Plaiting with wings was difficult I suppose. And I guess it was only a friendl gesture, a helping hand.

"Sure," I smiled.

Faede-

"It isn't sick, or twisted," I said. "It's invigorating."

He grunted. "You're disgusting, all of you."

"I will not have you talk to me like that," I said sharply, all seduction gone from my voice.

"I won't stand here and watch as you kill innocent people!"

"You will do as I say!" I shouted. The powers of the elements came to my voice, strengthening it, making it layered, impossibly strong and terrifying. He stared at me.

I shook my head, the storm clouds above abated, but now the eyes of the whole court were on us.

"You are a part of my court now, even if you will not be mine. You must obey your queen's orders."

"You are not my queen, my queen is a human," he said, narrowing his eyes.

I took the long sword my knight for today was holding, and whipped it up to his throat.

"I can kill you now," I said. "Or you can obey me in everything while you are under my rule."

Tristan:

I glared at her but thought of Lilith. "Yes, your highness." I said menacingly. I knew she would want to play with me later. I didnzt know why she liked me. I wished she didn't. But she did. She sheathed the sword and gave it back. Everyone started talking again. I glared, pushing a piece of blond hair out of my eyes.

Aurora:

I sighed and searched for Owen. I missed him. It was stupid, and I was being foolish, but I wanted to feel his arms around me. I sighed and found him. I gasped. He...he...I spurred my hourse. "Your highness, I'm going to ride ahead." I took of dashing through the forest, trying to clear my head.

Faede-

I smiled. "And don't you forget it," I said.

Aurora shot past me. I frowned as she took her leave, and sighed. "That girl makes life too difficult for herself," I said. "Never, ever, fall in love with a travelling minstrel. It's not advised. Then again," I smiled. "You don't have the liberty to fall in love, only to be loved." I shrugged. My night mare reared and I turned to the court behind me.

"Shall we ride?" I asked them.

Owen-

I tied Asteria's hair off with her green ribbon. She had followed the queen's trend of plaiting tiny beads and feathers into it. I thought of Aurora, whose hair stood alone, wild by itself.

Just as it came into my mind's eye, it shot past beneath me. Even from here, I could see tears in her eyes.

I cursed and flew off. Asteria simpered and followed me. I hissed at her.

"Aurora!" I shouted. "Aurora!"

Aurora:

I flew with the wind, my pain soaring as well. I sighed and pushed my horse faster, harder. One thing, including the queen, didn't know about me was that I was a fabulous hunter if I ever chose to be. I drew my bow and shot something, a deer I thought. I needed to blow off steam. I pushed my horse faster.

Tristan:

I glared at her. She wouldn't treat me like everyone else. I clinched my fists and pushed my horse forward, trying to at least put distance between the Queen and I if I could not be free of her completely.

Faede-

I led my party away. Tristan was fast, but not very fast. I caught up with him.

"They're in the western corner," I said, the wind whipping my dark hair off my face. "Come on."

I let out a laugh of sheer excitement. I loved to hunt.

Owen-

"Aurora!" I shouted, seeing glimpses of her horse amongst the trees, but she didn't stop. I dived in front of her, hoping it would make her stop.

Next thing I knew, I had an arrow sticking out of my side, and she continued to gallop.

*yup, that's right, she shot him!*

**AWH! No! =*( He can't die! =*(**

Aurora:

I heard a scream of pain. I doubled back afraid I had hit a human. There Owen lay, an arrow in his side. I gasped and jumped off my horse rushing to him. "OWEN!" I gently pulled the arrow out. "I'm sorry!" I called one of the healers over. They placed their hands on his side, and the wound closed up.

"Is he going to be okay?!" I begged.

Tristan:

The Queen was exstatic. I groaned. I wanted to be through, back home with Lilith in my arms.

Faede-

I pulled up short at a crowd in front of us. "What's happened?" I asked sharply.

"Owen. He's been shot."

I cursed. "Well, what kind of an idiot shot him?"

Aurora, white faced and trembling quietly said "I did."

I sighed and looked at the Healer. "I really don't want to call off the hunt. Will he be okay?"

The Healer nodded. "He should be."

"Then come on!" I called back. "There are humans roaming on our land!"

I galloped away towards the west, the sun to my back.

Owen-

I groaned.

"I'm sorry Owen, mercy, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to- I thought you were a deer-"

Aurora's voice floated towards me.

She shot you, you dolt, said my subconscious.

I groaned again, but this time not from pain. If she hated me enough to shoot me, it didn't look like there was any hope for us.

Aurora:

I looked at him helplessly. I carefully felt his bones to make sure that they weren't broken. "Are you okay?" I asked, tears streaming down my face. I kissed him softly. "I'm sorry! I...I thought you were a deer." Suddenly I was surrounded by tons of girls begging for Owen's attention. Mumbles of "Are you okay?" "Poor Owen" "Can you still play for us?" surrounded me. I groaned and got up, letting them claim his attention. I turned my horse around and raced back to the castle. Let them have him! He never wanted me anyways!

Owen-

I watched Aurora walk away. No apology? Fine with me.

"Yeah, some lunatic thought I was a deer," I said sourly.

"You're far stronger than a deer."

"Braver too."

"And better looking."

I grinned.

She didn't want me, fine. There were dozens of others who did. I smiled at Asteria and took her hand.

**She did apologize, a million times! Lol.**

Aurora:

I ran into the Library and cried until I couldn't anymoore. I took a deep breath and dried my face. I went and changed into a more revealing outfit. It was time to take the Queen's advice. Live in the moment. I promised myself that I wouldn't shed another tear for Owen. He could have whatever frilous courtier he wanted. But then, so could I. I drove my horse back towards the hunting party. I found the Queen. she looked at me questioningly. I was usually very conservative. I refused to blush.

"Hello your Highness. I decided to take your advice. Who needs just one when you can have five?" I smiled fakely, begging the words to be true in my mind.

*haha, well, she did shoot him, he's a little angry :D*

Faede-

"Wonderful. We're nearly there. The scouts say the humans don't have a clue what's going on."

Aurora smiled. "Brilliant."

"Have you changed your outlook on humans too?"

She shrugged.

I looked at Tristan. "I never did understand your aversity towards them. Well, to the girls, I can see. But the men," I licked my lips. "In any case, the one we are hunting is female."

Aurora smiled again.

Owen-

The Healers carried me back. Asteria stood by my head and kept me company the whole way.

They set me down in my bed back at court. She sat down beside me. "At least it wasn't your hand," she said. "You can still play."

I grinned. "Do you like my playing?"

"Better than anyone else's."

"Perhaps I'll write a song for you."

She giggled.

"Don't you miss the hunt?" she asked.

"No, I'd much rather be here. With you."

The strange thing was, the words weren't true. I'd much rather have Aurora by my side.

I shook my head and told myself to stop being silly.
