Aurora:

I was sure I was bright red. I knew the Queen was doing it for me, but still...I wasn't used to the attention. I sighed as he played again and I sang...with my horrible voice. Why it pleased the Queen, I did not know. But, I did know that she was trying to set me up with Owen. I sighed. He was so wonderful! I looked at him as he played. The music was gorgeous.

I looked around. There was two humans. I knew that the queen would want them to stay. Who better than the cook to stuff their faces? I smiled. Her cooking was divine. Anyone who refused usually regretted it. I smiled again and shook my head, my curls bouncing on my bare shoulders.

After the song, I went to the Queen.

"Mistress, do you want me to make sure the Male human stays? Or would you like me to bring him to you?" I asked politely, while I bowed. I was still her servant above all. No matter what else was happening, I had to serve her first.

I smiled at Aurora. "Shall we see?"

I held a hand up and the court fell silent. "My lords and ladies," I said, and smiled. "There are two humans amongst our company tonight."

There were whoops and cheers.

"Oh," I said theatrically, putting my chin on my hands. "Now I can't decide. Shall we keep them, or shall we play a game?"

More cheers. I grinned.

"Shall the faerie court hunt tonight?" I asked.

Aurora:

I frowned. I hated when they played games with the humans. They may be stupid, but it was cruel. Like a cat playing with it's prey before it kills it. I sighed, then looked back at Owen. He was already flirting with someone else. I sighed.

I knew it couldn't last, but it was nice while it did. I felt bad for the humans.

"Your Majesty," I addressed the Queen, "Wouldn't it be more fun to try and make them stay? Flirting is a lot more fun...and hardly any human survives the hunting. Plus, your Majesty, you would gain a new toy. I saw a handsome human male here. Surely you would like a new toy?" I asked, trying to pursuade her to be nice. The court looked at me, shocked. I didn't care. I felt so bad for the humans. My mother had always seen it as a weekness. I was always feeling sorry for helpless creatures. I usually spent my time with the changelings, teaching them and helping them learn.

I glanced at Owen, and started to boil. He was fliriting with someone else! I glared at him, shooting mental darts his way.

How could he?!

Faede-

I sighed. "I suppose you're right. Especially since my nights ruined my last toy. Although it would be fun to play with the girl."

"Oh your majesty, they can't run nearly as fast."

"Very well. Well, you're right I suppose."

Owen-

"You are a most wonderful dancer, Mistress Triss," I said, kissing her hand. "Tell me how you learnt, so that I may be as good."

The pretty little faerie blushed. "It was your music, nothing more."

"Mm, then perhaps I'll play that song again," I murmured, kissing her hand again.

Beside the throne, Aurora was staring at Triss and I.

Triss giggled and ran off. I raised my eyebrows at Aurora, inviting her down for another song.

Aurora:

"Thank you, your Majesty." I answered, absentmindedly. I was still staring at Owen.

He was inviting me to sing with him. I glared. How could he be so bold? Flirting with one girl one minute, and another girl the next?!

I was furious. I made myself look away.

Her highness looked at me. "Why don't you sing another song?"

I paled. "Please, your Majesty, don't make me sing!" I practically begged.

She glared at me. "I told you to sing!"

"Yes, your majesty." I replied, glumly.

I walked down toward Owen, still glaring. "The Queen says I have to sing with you." I said, coldly.

"Kitty," I called. She was a pet of the household, a curious little thing that had never grown past ten years old. "Come, tell me what you discovered today."

*Nothing for Aurora?*

Aurora:

I stalked past Owen after the song had finished and went to listen to Kitty. I loved the little changeling. I would spend all day with her. She was so cute and sweet. But most fairies found her annoying. They only tollerated her because she was a pet of the Queen.

"Yes, what have you found today?" I encouraged. I just wanted to take her in my arms and keep her there. She was completely adorable. I could feel Owen's eyes on me. I refused to look, acting cold.

What did I care anyways? It didn't really matter.

Faede-

Kitty began to explain about the injured magpie she had found and settled in the king's throne.

"A mighty fine king he would make too!" I laughed. "Better than any faerie."

Aurora gave a sad smile. I smiled back and leant forwards to her.

"Be merry," I said. "It is simply Owen's nature to flirt with anything that breathes."

"So, um, what's the magpie's name?" she asked Kitty.

Owen-

Aurora refused to look at me. Instead I stepped up onto the dais and pressed her hand to my lips. It was soft and warm.

"My lady," I said. "When I first saw you I thought your hair was like fire. but now I am certain it is more like the red of the cherries in the Queen's winter orchards, which perhaps would suit you better, as you are so cold towards me."

Aurora:

I resisted the urge to either faint, or yank my hand away. The latter sounded better.

"Do you like changelings?" I asked, still mildly cold.

He smiled at me. I melted in his eyes.

WHy does he do this to me?!

Tristan:

He walked up to the gorgeous figure on the throne, trying to disentangle himself from the crowds of fairies (for he realized now that's what they were) around him.

He saw a gorgeous female with dazzling red hair. Her eyes drew him in. And yet, she was not interested in him like everyone else. Maybe this is why he was drawn to her.

"Excuse me, miss, where am I?"

She smiled at me, but hesistantly looked to the even more stunning creature on the throne. A slight nod of the head and the being spoke. "You are in the court of the fairies, a great honor. This is the Queen of the fairies." she added, acknowleding the Queen, who was now gazing intently at him.

"Your highness." he bowed low, fansinated by everything.

Kitty-

After Kitty was finished telling what she had discovered that day. She walked towards TonTOn. Her imaginary friend.

"TonTon." Kitty whispered.

THe little goshtly girl listened." Yes Kitty?"

"I'm Going to talk to Tristan!" Kitty giggled.

TonTon puffed up her cheeks and floated away.

Faede-

I smiled at the boy. How I loved it when they approached of their own free will!

"What is your name?" I asked him.

He hesitated then answered "Tristan. And yours -your majesty?"

I laughed. "Not one faerie in this room knows my full name, a named thing is a tamed thing after all." I leant down to him. "You should be more careful with yours."

Owen-

"What do you think of the human boy?" I whispered to Aurora.

"I-er, well, he's human," I said with a shrug. "I'm not that fascinated by them."

"Really?" I asked, with genuine interest.

"They're mortal, they'll die," she whispered back.

Meanwhile, the queen offered Tristan a deliciously ripe pear.

Aurora:

I wanted to scream at him not to eat, but I knew the Queen would kill me if I did so. I avoided looking directly at Owen. he was so wonderful, it was so easy to get ensnared with his eyes alone, not to mention his silky voice and beautiful compliments.

"What do you like?" he asked.

I blushed. "I like changelings." I answered honestly.

And you! I LOVE YOU! My head screamed.

Tristan:

"Yes, your Majesty. I'm not hungry though." I answered her. she frowned.

Just then, a little...girl walked up to him.

"Hey sweetie. what's your name?" he asked, cooing a little to her.

"Kitty." she answered with a giggle.

"Well aren't you a pretty little thing?"

She blushed. He just loved little girls.

Owen-

I smiled. "What about me?" I asked. "I'm half sprite," I said, flicking my wings.

"Only half?" she said.

"Yeah, hence the not-blue skin," I answered. "So do you like half sprites?"

Faede-

I smiled as Kitty began chattering to Tristan.

Aurora:

"Perhaps...if they can learn how to love just one girl." I said a bit bitterly.

I sighed. I loved him...and yet, I don't think he even cared what I thought. I softened my expression as I saw Kitty chatting happily with Tristan.

"Majesty, I will get Tristan to eat, if you let kitty have him." I told the queen.
