The Dorm

"Hi," Adam said, bending down to help the girl. "Overpacked?"

"I guess," she said, crumpling her clothes up and stuffing them all in.

Adam grinned. "You pack the same way I do,"

"Well, it's only until I get my dorm," she said.

"I'm Adam," he said, flicking his sandy hair back.

"Lily," she answered. "You waiting for a dorm too?"

"Yup," he said, handing her the last pair of jeans. "Come on, we can wait together."

Nick-

Nick stood in line with his bag hanging on his shoulder. The rest of his stuff would come in a few days, it would take that long for it to be shipped over from Glasgow. He was waiting for his dorm assignment and looking around the admissions hall. Granted his family wasn't overly excited about his decision to leave Glasgow, but he knew he would like it- hopefully.

Lily:

"Thanks." I smiled shyly. I wasn't used to be around a lot of guys. As an only child who was shy around strangers, I had never had a real boyfriend before. Just having one help me sent me blushing.

"So...how old are you?" I asked, trying to find something to talk about. One thing I missed was my big black horse. I loved riding. I also missed my other baby, my cat. But...animals weren't allowed in the dorms.

I waited for his answer patiently.

"I'm nineteen. I just took a year out to travel," Adam said. "You?"

"Eighteen. Fresh out of school," she said with a shrug. "So, um, where did you go?"

"Britain, I have family there. And France. A lot of Europe really, then down to South Africa, my brother's working there."

"Cool," she said. "So what are you studying?" she said as they joined the line.

"Medicine," he said with a smile. "How about you?"

Lily:

I blushed. "A lot of stuff really. I'm sort of a nerd. I'm studying law, history, english writing, and literature."

"Wow. Sounds like a lot."

"Yeah..." I blushed again. He towered over my 5'2". I pushed my brown hair out of my eyes. "Do you have an extracuriculer activities you like doing? Any sports?" I asked, still red.

Rolling his rather large head around his broad shoulders, Ryan Peterson dragged his suitcase into the university main office. He glanced around at the couple of people around in the circular lobby.

There were two guys and a girl. I wonder how many new students there are... They were all communicating to each other, and Ryan smiled as he saw a girl, about his age. I mean, she'd have to be at least 18 if not 19.

"Hey, uh, do you know where we are supposed to... uh... sign in?" he asked the girl. There was the one male standing next to her, and she was blushing.

Adam- (3B, I'm guessing the guy and girl were Adam and Lily..)

Adam was about to answer her when a boy his own age asked where they could sign in.

"Erm, we're waiting for dorm assignments," Lily said. "There's a bit of a queue."

"That's cool," he answered. "Guess I can wait for a bit. I'm Ryan," he said by way of introduction.

"Adam," Adam said, holding out a hand.

Lily:

I blushed deeper. Another guy? Wow.

"Not really. I was told to wait in line. I'm Lily Milam. What's your name?" I asked, blushing deeper. He was cute and handsome. I was used to guys being my friend, but nothing more.

I hope this year will be different.

***Someone bring my girl in. And can someone claim her. ***

Adam-

"So what are you studying?" Adam asked Ryan.

Just then another girl walked through the doors of the lobby and straight over to the group. She looked young, but Adam thought she wasn't half-bad.

"Um, sorry," she said. "Dorm assignments?"

"Through that door, but the line's massive," he said to her.

"Oh okay," she said. "Can I stay here then?"

"Sure," Lily said, looking thankful to have another girl in tow.

"I'm Dawn," she said.

[Channing]

She stood in line, a rucksack on her back. She was nearly to the beginning, and had been there for quite a long time. She wore a pair of sunglasses on her face, which was surrounded by short dark brown hair. Her blue eyes starred out from behind them at the table a few feet in front of her where people were handing out keys.

She adjusted her backpack and glanced up to the clear sky. Amazing out today, she thought.

Channing didn't live far from school, in fact was in the city with her family. She had taken a year off to backpack through Europe for three months and spent the other nine months with a charity program in Ethiopia. She loved it but she knew she needed to get back and go through school.

Another student walked away and she stepped up to the table.

"Name?" a rude woman asked.

"Young, Channing" she answered as if she were reading her name off a list. She knew they would want her last name first.

Dawn--

Dawn looked around the table taking in everyone around her.

"Where are you from?" One of the guys asked.

"Texas, Bandera, Texas." She smiled, "And y'all?"

**Somebody bring me in please**

Nick-

"Young, Channing." the girl next to him said. He took his key and room assignment from the lady and gave her a smile and a quiet thank you before turning to look at the girl.
"Young, is that uh oriental?" She turned and looked at him with suprise before twisting her face into a smirk.
"No." She said looking over her sunglasses at him.
"I'm Nick." He said putting out his hand which she didn't take.
"Channing." she replied curtly before turning and heading out of the office, then she called back over her shoulder, "Nice to meet you Mick."
"Nick." He muttered under his breathe as he smiled and headed for his dorm.

[Ryan Peterson]

"The line's moving up - about time too!" Ryan muttered as he glanced as his watch. It was a quarter past three. He motioned for his peers to follow him.

"So, what are you guys studying? I'm planning to be a mechanical engineer. I have to go through all of those boring classes." They laughed. "So, what are you guys taking?"
