I stamped on his foot and he yelped out in pain, dropping his sword hand.
"You can't learn Lesson Number Two until you know Lesson Number One," I said, and I couldn't help but smile.
"Okay," he said. "Expect the unexpected."
I slowly lowered my sword. "I'll leave you to think on that," I said, turning to walk away.
With a shout he jumped on my back and tried to pull me to the floor. I shook him off and put a foot at his neck.
"I was expecting that," I said.
"Right," he said grudgingly. "I get it. I'll work on it."
I offered him my hand. "Don't worry. Some people just aren't natural fighters," I said. "I just am."
