"I hve to go. They said in an hour." I told him, grabbed my bag and jogged back up the stairs.

"Wait!" he said, taking his own pack up. It was a lot bulkier than my own. I surpressed a smile.

We passed by the guard that patrolled outside my room. I raised a hand to him.

"Do mine eyes deceive me, or was that a friendly wave?" Lathe asked.

"He's a good man, that's all." I said darkly. "They're hard to come by."

I went up to the fountain and sat on the rim, waiting for the others to arrive.

[Lathe]

"Of course they are, with that attitude," Lathe suggested, "If you gave half of them a chance they might be okay too."

She shot him an annoyed look; he grinned.

For a second he stood in front of her, deliberating, and then sat down next to her. He was careful to sit a good distance away because he didn't exactly want his arm chopped off.

He had a sudden desire to scoot closer, so he leaned over and rested his arms on his knees, clasping his hands together so as not to do anything too stupid. He stared out into the distance, waiting for the others to arrive.

(srry to post so soon after my last one, but this will be quick)
[Lathe]

From the shadows near the fountain he and Chandra were seated on, Lathe spotted a vague figure.

He stood up, "Hello?"

His colleague, Sandy, stepped out, "Hey."

"You just waiting too?"

Sandy-

Sandy looked the guy over and nodded slightly. "Yea, it's taken them long enough." She let a smile twitch at her lips.

Chandra-

I watched the other two talking. Sandy looked at me. "You up for this Chandra?" she said with a sickly sweet smile.

I nodded once without meeting her eye.

She sighed and sat on Lathe's other side, obviously feeling she should keep her distance.

I was fine with that.

[Lathe]

Lathe was a little confused and a little awkward. Something had passed between Sandy and Chandra while he wasn't paying attention.

But he hardly pondered it for long, his thoughts turned to Chandra. She was so tough, closed off, out of bounds, and she outlasted him in a sword fight.

He smiled, thinking that for every time she rejected him it only made him more intrigued. Carefully, he flicked his eyes sideways towards her.

She met his gaze, eyes narrowing.

He quickly turned his attention ahead, "So uhh how long do you think the others will take?"

Sandy-

Sandy streched her legs out, crossed her arms, and closed her eyes. The sooner this was over the better. She didn't plan on getting close to anyone. That plan always seemed to work before and it should work this time too.

"So uhh how long do you think the others will take?" The guy next to her asked,

"Who knows." She replied not opening her eyes.

*we're waiting for the others to turn up...*

I caught Lathe looking at me, again. I glared at him and he tried to make conversation. I didn't reply.

I hated guys making eyes at me, but I couldn't stop thinking about the way his were so intensely blue. It was unusual.

He was handsome enough in his way. But he was awkward and messed things up. And he was a terrible fencer. I told him I had respect for him, and I did. Not many guys had the guts to challenge me. They always used the excuse that they could beat me easily. It was rare anybody ever asked me to a fair fight. He had, and I wasn't lying about the respect. Just... nothing more.

For now... his words rang in my head.

Well, he's hopeful.

I groaned and stretched. "They better hurry up," I said. "I hate waiting around."

[Lathe]

"I agree," Lathe grumbled, "But I have an idea of what we can do before they get here."

"Oh really," Chandra snarled, "What's that?"

"Well, since you dub me such a horrible fencer, an assassin's dream, why don't you give me some lessons?" he grinned, wondering if she would or not.

**c'mon people all you have to do is say that character met up with everyone else!**

I whipped out my sword and pressed it to his throat.

"Lesson Number One," I said. "Always expect the unexpected."

He grinned like an idiot at me.

**come on everyone! Just say you came to the fountain where the others were! Then we can actually start!**

[Lathe]

Lathe groped for his sword, holding her glare with his eyes. He found the handle and pressed it against her sword, slowly shifting his position. He honestly didn't know what to do in that position.

"What's Lesson Number Two?" he asked, hoping to get out of this unexpected position somewhat gracefully.
