Dragon Riders

Ok, so this isn't an idea based off Eragon and hopefully wont look like that. I got the idea from looking through some of the pictures I use for SB's. So here it goes.

There are four different 'countries' on earth. The reason countries is in ' ' is because it is really sections of the earth. On each country there is a dragon native to that country. These are your typical dragons. You have your normal dragon that shoots out fire, then you have the other three. Earth, Wind, and Ice. Now it sounds really weird for a dragon to shoot earth out of it's mouth. They don't, they acctually control earth and can pull it up and shoot it out. But they can also create it with time. It normally takes five earth dragons to create an acre of earth in twenty minutes. They are the ones that can make islands when needed. Also the wind that the Wind Dragons shoot out can go up to 200mph. So they can cause alot of damage.

So, what is this about? Well the earth is fairly new, so there aren't very many dragons or people on it. But everyone is trying to claim land. There are about fifty of each kind of dragon, and fifty thousand people for each. So there aren't very many. But, because of the fight for land a huge war has broken out. There are some though that want to stop the fighting and divide it up evenly so that they can live their lives peacefully.
The riders are all the same, they are humen, there aren't elvies or anything, at least not that they know of. That is until demons start popping up, and then Elves show themselves to help save the humans.

So you can chose to be a human, or elf. I don't want anyone to be a demon because there will be very few who are and that will make it hard on them. You can be a dragon rider or a normal human. Demons don't have dragons, yet, and all Elves do. There aren't a mix of Dragons they are only one thing: Fire, Earth, Ice, or Wind. Nothing else, there also are no half elves half humans or anything else. The reason is because the Elves haven't been showing themselves for very long.

So here are the profile layouts, you need one for your person and your dragon.

Appearance: Look at the picture, what she is wearing in the picture is what she is normally wearing.
Personality: She is quiet, keeps mostly to herself. She has spunk and isn't afraid to fight.
Weapons: daggers and her fists, and that rod thing in the pictures, it is really really sharp.
History: She was orphaned at a young age and was found by Crest, her dragon, when she got lost in the woods. She has been with him ever sense.

Personality: Very protective of Cara, doesn't put up with much, and seems mean at times.

Name: Trissa

Age: 25

Race: Elf

Personality: likes to live fast and dangerous, otherwise she wouldn't be a rider at such a young age for an elf. Therefore she's quick witted, quick tongued and quick to lose her temper. Fast runner. Fast rider.

Weapons: she's very skilled with a sword, and she has a dagger concealed on her person.

History: She comes from a very respectable, normal, patient, beautiful, kind thoughtful family, one of the first to appear. What went wrong?


Dragon

Name: Sweep

Age: 90, very young to be ridden, but she couldn't wait.

Race: Wind.

Personality: as fast as her riders. Their elders tease both of them that their mother and father were the South and North Winds. Fast and flighty. They get on surprisingly well considering their tempers. But they're practically the same soul they're so alike. Often they don't even need to speak, they're already thinking the same thing.

History: Erm... well, normal, really. Nothing special about these two...

Name: Satika (yeah i luv that name, sorry)
Age: (can they be young?) i guess....22
Personality: bright, shy, likes to help, loves dragons, likes the cold, likes to keep to herself.
Race: elf
Weapons: A knife(about the size of a normal hunting knife, with a large emerald in it.) that her mom gave her before she died. the usual stuff like rope, sling, bow an d arrow....etc. she treasures her knife and will hurt anything that tries to take it away.
History: Technically, right now she is an orphan. She lost her mom when she was 16(she died of an unknown disese) She never knew her father, though it is rumored he was a very powerful man.

Has very bright reddish golden hair. normally her eyes are brown, but when she is really mad or upset, her eyes turn a deep dark emerald liek the stone on her knife. very slender and athletic, though she fends for herself.

Age: He's is still young...so i'd say about 101
Personality: Very protective....that should just about explainit though he does like to be 'arrogant' at times.

Personality: Thoughtful, yet pushy. He tends to over think a situation. He can seem dark, but he really isn't.
Weapons: A short sword and a pouch full of throwing knifes.
History: His dragon saved him when he was younger and has been with him ever since looking for his family.

Personality: He's more deep and careful. Not the friendliest dragon in the world.

Weapons: A long sword that glows red, and a bow&arrow that both are red.
History: Her mom died giving birth to her. Her father killed himself. Her brother abused her and raped her constantly, Yuki killed her brother when he tried to kill Nina and she's been with him ever since. Drinking beer and being with Yuki are her only outlets.

Age: 17
Race: elf
Appearance: 5'8", slender with curves and muscle, long blonde hair, blue eyes
Personality: Pretty calm and aristocratic at times, but can be your typical girl (talkative, playful, etc.); is very kind despite her temper
Weapons: cherry recurve, scimitar
History: Is from a mercenary family that has been living among humans (in secret) for years. Is following in the footsteps of her father and has vowed to help the humans and stop the war.


Name: Sinarel (sin-uh-RAL), male
Age: about 150 years
Appearance: silver scales with a blue underside and wings; white dappling on shoulders and neck
Personality: is generally territorial, short-tempered, and energetic; is the best companion to those he trusts
Type: Ice

Cara

Cara closed her eyes laying her head against Crest's back.

'What are you doing?' Crest demanded, 'Those things could come back and your sleeping!'

"Hush, I'm tired, just fly up higher, they haven't got dragons yet thank goodness." She yawned slowly drifting to sleep. She woke up to Crest pulling her off his back. She shoved her eyes open. They were near a town. "What are we doing?" She demanded,

"Getting you somewhere you can stay that is safe, that way you'll be able to rest up. All you riders think about is fixing the problems, you never think that maybe just maybe you need sleep. And you humans need alot of it, so don't argue, let's go." He pushed her forward with his snout.

"But I can sleep on your back just fine." She replied, "I'm not worried, I just want to rid the earth of those demons."

"What about the elves?" Crest asked,

"Their here to help us, at least they seem to be. Now maybe sleep is a good thing." She yawned and made her way into one of the bars/hotels. Some buildings were big enough for a dragon to get in them. The rooms also had an area for the dragon to sleep, the hotel part was bulit against a mountian allowing the dragons to sleep in caves next to rooms where the riders would sleep. Cara always slept in the cave with Crest though, she felt safer that way. "First I want some water."

Name: Wes
Race: Human
Age: 18
Appearance: Spiky blond hair, blue eyes, black leather clothes.
Personality: Easy going, but also careful. Used to be reckless and carefree, but the years spent with his dragon have taught him wisdom and caution.
Weapons: Broadsword, imbued with the power of wind. Given to him as a gift from his dragon when they first met. Swinging the sword can shoot a gust of wind at his enemies.
History: Never knew his parents, they had both died before he was old enough to remember what they looked like. At the age of 12 he met his dragon, Zephyrus, who has been like a father to him.

Dragon profile:

Name: Zephyrus
Type: Wind (since no one else chose it)
Age: 782
Appearance: Old is the best way to describe him. Has silver scales that have dulled and cracked over the ages. Wings have a few tears here and there, but not enough to keep him earthbound. Half a size bigger than a normal dragon. (Take the size of a normal dragon, add half of that mass and you get Zephyrus.) A few strands of gray hair hangs from his chin like a beard.
Personality: One of the wisest dragons in existence, as well as the oldest. Where other dragons would choose to fight, Zephyrus tries to find a way to resolve the conflict without resorting to violence. He only fights when absolutely necessary, not only because he dislikes fighting, but because he doesn't always have the strength to fight. He was named after the Greek God of the western wind, also known as the gentlest of all the Gods. His personality fits the name to the T.
History: A very well-known dragon among all dragon-kin. In his earlier years he was one of the four great dragons. The four great dragons were the strongest dragons of each element. He was also known as Zephyrus the Wise. When he reached the age of 500 he was as strong as he was ever going to be. It was all downhill from there. His powers have been diminishing with his old age.

(Is that OK, or is the whole 'great four dragons' thing too much? By the way, TN, these: ' ' are called quotations. When using dialog you used the double quotations: " " When you're emphasizing a word you use the single ones. I hope that clears thing up a bit.)

(I think I know why ice is popular. It's simple psychology. Every time you see dragons in movies or books the most common form are fire dragons. People chose ice dragons so they could break tradition as well as still having something to shoot out of their dragons' mouths.)

Satika:

Satika yawned lazily, just waking up from a peaceful slumber. "Mika. Mika where are we?" She asked.

Mika looked at Satika as if to say If you dont leave me alone, im gonna turn you into ice. then laid his head back down to sleep.

Ignoring the look Mika gave her, she stubbornly gave him a gentle shove to wake him.

"Ok, ok I'm up already!" He exclaimed.

"You better get up you big ball of ice. It's almost dusk, and you're here complaining about being tired. What a baby you are." She said, laughing whilst she did so.

"Ok. So what's on the schedule for to day?" He asked sarcasticly, recieving another shove, this one not so gentle.

"You know where we have to go. We just got to hope we make it. Now get up so we can get going." She said while standing up.



Mika:

Oh, help me someone please! He cried out silently. Can't she see I need my beauty sleep? He asked himself.
Oh well, might as well get up, got a long day ahead of us. He thought, remembering they were still on the run. Since being outcast from the village they were staying with, they had been traveling during the night and resting during the day. Can this get any worse?

"Come on Sweep!" I laughed. "Anyone would think you didn't want to be back before sunset."

Sweep craned her neck and looked at me. "Oh yeah?"

"Yeah. In fact, I bet I could beat you in a race." she said. "You, me, one hundred metres. No special powers. Ground only."

Sweep shook me off her back and crouched down. "You're on." she said, her eyes glinting.

"To the edge of the glade." I said, hitching my skirts up and digging my bare heels into the fresh earth. "On the count of three."

"One. Two. Three!" I cried.

Sweep did not lumber, in fact, she was very streamlined for a dragon, with pure muscle.

But even still, on land, she was no competition for the fastest elf in the land. I reached the glade long before she did.

"I win!" I said, rubbing her neck.

"Well you just wait until I'm in the air." Sweep grumbled back. "And as for not being back before sunset, we'll be back before noon." she grinned.

Okay, I like the Dragon idea, but one question: You forgot an element!!!! What about spirit, heart, the one who can control all the elements? It's very important. Maybe you could make a few rare Dragons scattered in all the relms? Just a thought.

Appearence: VERY long brown hair, green eyes flecked with gold, purple dress with brown belt and brown bag, and a speical neclace, the only memory she has left of her parents
Personality: Strong, thick headed, very good leader. Lots of people like her, but not all. Hates snobby people.
Weapons: Sword and bow and arrows
History: Used to be a princess of a far-away land. When she was three, her kingdom and parents were killed. She was the only one who survived out of it. Doesn't like to talk about it. Would rather rip out the person who asked throught.

Dragon Profile:

Age:710
Appearence: White and light-blueish scales
Personality: Loves Zeeba deeply, would do anything for her
Type: Water or Spirit

Name: Alanna Grackle

Age: 24

Race: Human

Personality: Very carefree. Alanna doesn't care for much but her dragon. The rest doesn't matter.

Weapons: Short sword

History: Alanna found Aidara when she was an egg. She hatched and they grew up together. They live where ever there is room.
