Background: Had his first encounter with a vampire at the age of thirteen, and tried to convince everyone he knew that they were real. He's regarded as being relatively crazy now, and is extremely paranoid, believing that vampires are out to get him because he knows too much. When he's not busy trying to protect himself from vampires, he's a pretty friendly guy.
Appearance: 6'2", athletic with longish brown hair and pale blue eyes. He wears fairly plain clothes, and generally has an easy time blending into a crowd.

Background: Her family was attacked by Rogues and was killed but she escaped. She is wandering around the city confused and scared. However, she is able to protect herself because of her previous hobbies (fencing, climbing, gymnastics)
Appearance: She is tallish with long blonde hair which she keeps in a braid. She has bright green eyes and is slightly pale. She is skinny but a lot stronger than she looks (an advantage).

Jake walked down the street no one was out and rightly so. This town had recently become a vampire infested place. No one dares go out after dusk. All but one. He pulled his cloak tighter around him for there was a slight chill in the air and he knew something was going on. A moment later he heard a scream from behind him.
He ran to where he heard the scream, it came from an alley. He peaked around the corner to see a young girl trapped by three vampires, though there were two on the ground dead. She had a pole in her hand and was stained in blood.
Jake drew his saber and stabbed one threw the heart felling him before it knew what happened. The other lashed out with a saber, but Jake dodged it. He parried the next move and cut it across the chest which seemed to do nothing. After side stepping the next trust he cut of the vampires head. The third was about to attack him, but was stabbed from behind. It fell showing the girl.
Jake gave a slight smile before whipping out a pistol and turning. There stood another vampire. "I think I can offer you safety from these Rogues." Jake kept the pistol pointed at his head. "My name is Drake McWilliams, I'm one of the breed."
Jake lowered the pistol slowly, "Jake Ginestro." He turned toward the girl who said her name was Alex. "I don't trust you, but we may have no other choice, though I can't fore you to go." He turned once more to the girl.

Alana-
Alana ran to her window when she heard the scream. She grabbed a knife and quickly made her way out the window and towards the alley way. When she saw a guy fighting off the vampires she stopped and hid behind a garbage can. If they needed her help she would come out. BUt she didn't want to show herself yet. She listened to the conversation. She had heard of 'The Breed' but she couldn't figure out what it was exactly. She peeked her head out from behind the can and looked at the girl who still looked scared to death.
Alex stared at the guy who called himself Jake. She wasn't quick to trust either, but he had just helped her to fight off a load of vampires who were trying to kill her. She had got rid of two, but there had been too many and they all attacked at once.
She held out a hand. 'Thanks.' he shook it. They had an understanding.
There was a pause before Alex spoke. 'Why are you out after dusk?'
Jake met her gaze. 'I might ask the same thing about you.'

Jake smiled, but then turned as did the vampire. He heard a small shriek and he knew someone was there, "Come out, we wont hurt you." Out from behind a trash can came another girl.
Alana slowly moved from behind the trash can, but kept the knife hidden under her crossed arms. She looked at the guy, then the vampire, then the girl. She really should've stayed back at her house.
Now your acting like a scardy cat. She ground at herself. She had killed a vampire before. Why was she so worried about defending herself now?
Alex glanced over at the girl. She looked alright.
Alex's gaze snapped back to the vampire. Even if he was one of the Breed, that still didn't mean she trusted him. He caught her eye and grinned, his teeth shone and she blinked as the memory of her family's death came back to her.
'I'm Alana.' said the girl and Alex was pulled back into reality.
'Alex.' she stayed where she was and tried to rub some of the blood off her hands.
Jake reached down and started to drag the bodies into the shadows. 'It will attract less attention.' he explained.
Alex nodded and she walked a little up the alley. 'Where are you going?' called Jake after her.
'There is a boy dead by the road. They got to him before I could.' she walked over to the small body and lifted it with ease. She carried him back and lay him on the concrete in the alley.
'So, does anyone have anywhere safe to stay?' she asked.

Jake sighed, So many people, not what I like. He turned and began to walk away, but Alex grabbed his arm, "I wont trust a vampire." He looked at him, "I won't kill you, but know this, I hate your kind. For what ever reason you fight, we seem to be on the same side. As long as it's like that, peace to you. I'm here for a while, we'll see each other again."
"Wait Jake, I don't like it either, but we need shelter." Alex looked concerned and the other two just stood there.
"No, I can't, but you should go, both of you. I'll find you in the morning," and with that he was gone.
"M-my apartment is just above our heads. It's a pretty safe place, I've never been bothered." She said looking at all of them. Cause of all your guns, pointed objects, and the fact that you killed all the vampires that tried to hurt you. A voice laughed in her head.
That was only two, and only because they killed, Adam. She smiled inwardly back. Adam had been her brother, who was a vampire, and a good one at that. Course that was maybe why no one messed with her, because the vampires in the building got along with her brother and seemed to take care of her.
Alex lagged behind Alana and the vampire as she was led to the apartment. She glared at the vampires back.
Good vampire or bad, that didn't change what he was capable of. She silently cursed Jake, she would have felt better three against one.
As the other two disappeared into the appartment she stayed outside. 'I can't do it.' she said to herself.
There was a drainpipe on the corner of the building so she climbed it and sat on the roofstaring out across the city. She thought she could see the roof of her house so she sat silently staring at it, praying sleep would come soon.
