**Wait...who is 'she' and 'her'? I thought Robin and Jamie were both guys...**

Thyme

I turned to see Orain advancing upon us, anger burning clearly in his eyes.

"Traitor!" he spat again.

I gripped my staff and moved in front of Bella, glaring at the man i had once known as a comrade and possibly even a friend.

Suddenly a few figure appeared, running in Orain's path.

"Hey!" Robin called, blocking the blow from Orain. He drew back again and was about to strike back when someone or something jumped on him, sending them both flying a few feet away. I blinked in surprise and saw Jamie wrestling with the youth. I didn't have time to wonder over that before i was forced to turn back to the once-more advancing Orain.

"Give it up, Orain. You know I was always stronger." i called mockingly.

He laughed sharply. "We'll see."

I shrugged and lashed out with my staff, sending a burst of magic from my palm.

Thus the battle begun.

((OOH. Green. I just told myself: blue+red = purple))

Robin & Jamie

Robin stared at the man before her, unable to see through the darkness. Only Jamie knew Robin was a girl. Only her twin had known she'd disguised herself as a boy to take his place in paying back Ben. Yet the voice--it wasn't the same. It purred, yet it sent shivers down her spine. Her mind froze up, unable to compute.

"You're dead," she said, softly.

Jamie appeared suddenly before her, his eyes, bright red in color, burning holes into hers. "Yes." He said simply, stopping her when she went to touch his face. He was so pale, and his hold on her wrist frozen and vice-like. But this was Jamie, it had t be.

He let go just as suddenly, vanishing. Robin stood quickly. "Wai-"

"Don't move. Just stay where you are," Jamie's voice was sharp, cutting. Robin froze, hands trembling.

Jamie watched his twin, a pain he had thought long forgotten tugging at his still heart. He cursed silently. He couldn't stay here, he was far too hungry. He'd nearly ripped out her throat right there.

"I have to go," he said finally. "Another time, Robin."

As his sister turned, he turned to vapor, quickly hurrying out under the door and down the hall. He could feel her confusion, but he couldn't stay to explain. He didn't go far before turning back--it had been so long since his last feeding, and he had little power left. He listened to the nearby sound of a heart, and followed it into the keep. The scent came to him soon after: a woman. She smelt like a healer--she would do.

OOC: Robin's a girl!? Yes, she is. :D If people read the parts where it's from Jamie's perspective, he started off calling Robin 'she' until he switched to 'he' after remembering something. And you also might have noticed Robin wasn't happy when he went all weepy and girlish. They were hints, sort of.

^_^ Now that you all know, feel free to have your chars clue in as Robin starts slipping more often. I'll be using 'she' from now on, also.

EDIT: If anyone read this without posting, I took off the part that was just Robin.

Orain and Thyme

I spun, narrowly dodging Thyme's burst before countering with one of my own. I grinned, "The difference between you and I, Thyme, is that you were always too scared to use magic to it's fullest potential."

Still seemingly calm, Thyme shrugged again and fired off another bolt of magic. I ducked again, guiding the magic over my head with my staff. It was more powerful this time, causing me to grin even more - I was getting to him, "You may have been stronger in some ways, but I was always the better of the two of us, because I wasn't weak like you. I'm not afraid of uncontrolled magic."

Now it was his turn to smile, "You're only distracting yourself with your gloating, Orain."

I frowned, then turned quickly, just in time to block the girl's knives. I hit the ground at her feet with my staff, making the earth in front of her shift violently.

*Prodds Billy* Please only use your character(s) in your posts. It's alright what you did but please don't add other characters names to the beginning of your post (like Orain and Thyme) when they are not yours to control. Or at least not Thyme. I don't know what everyone else's preferences are...

Thyme

I ground my teeth together in frustration, knowing Orain was right...or at least partially right. My spells were too weak. But how could i kill a man i had once called a friend?

But if i didn't, i would lose the only person in the world i had left to care about.

Was it worth it?

I spun, lashing out with my staff, aiming for Orain's legs. He turned and blocked it, grinning because he knew he had me.

"You always did underestimate me, Orain." i said quietly, lifting my eyes to meet his.

Bella

I jumped into the air as the Earth shook violently below me. Orian had already turned his attention back to Thyme, who was watching me carefully.

Orian did not notice as I came behind him, holding my daggers at the ready. I could kill him, or I could just hit the pressure point at the back of his neck. I was only inches away, and too silent to be noticed.

**Sorry, I thought I was meant to do that when there was a fight ><**

Orain

I forced him back a few steps, letting another spell gradually build up. Once it was ready, in only a few moments, I'd have the traitor right where I wanted him. And then, once I had him and that girl as prisoners, I'd have a new experiment to try out. I wonder if they realise what they're doing when I'm controlling them...

Thyme had never stood a chance against me. One on one, I was always the better of the two of us. I grinned at him, "Any last words, Thyme?"

He looked past me, "Don't kill him."

I frowned, confused. And in that moment of indecision, the girl hit me in the back of the neck.

Bella

I nodded at Thyme's words, jabbing Orian hard at his neck. I hit a pressure point, and Orian immediatly crumpled to the ground.

Thyme slowly walked to where I stood, looking down at Orian.

Thyme

I approached Orain slowly, staring at his crumpled form sadly. I had not wanted to hurt him...

But, again, what choice did i have? He would've killed me...and Bella.

I looked over to where she stood, only a few feet away. I smiled wearily.

"Thank you." i said. "And thanks for not killing him."

Bella

"Did you expect me to do otherwise?" I asked, looking at Thyme curiously. His eyes met mine for a moment, and he smiled slightly.

"No, I suppose not. You're not the type to kill..."

"Besides that, you asked me not to," I added, sighing.

**I'm going to skip forward a bit if that's alright with you guys. If not, just go ahead with beating the army and come back to this later.**

Orain

I woke up, keeping my eyes closed as I tried to sense out my surroundings. My hands were bound, so I was pretty limited in my magic capabilities. All I could do was try and sense if there was anyone around me, and work out a way to escape. Physical contact would do. I concentrated, trying to work out who was there. It was better this way, they might think me still asleep and be more careless as a result.

"You can open your eyes Orain. I know you're awake."

I opened them, looking up at Thyme, "You should've killed me when you had the chance. You know I won't rest until one of us is dead. Traitor."

Bella

I stood a little bit behind Thyme, watching Orian carefully. I could feel Thyme's anger, as well as a small amount of fear. I touched his shoulder gently, hoping to keep him from doing anything he would regret.

Aedomir

An arrow hined past Aedomir's ear like a bolt, and struck a nearby orc. The battle was turning ill, he realised. "Regroup! To the keep!" The comabts broke away, and he jsut about saw the guard captain get knocked down by a slice to the head. So he was alone now.

"Front row, swords! Ranks two and three, draw bows!" He ran up and turned around, slashing a goblin's neck. "Fire!" A wave of arrows burst across the field, and a line of goblins fell down. "Swords! Prepare for combat! And... Charge!"

Thyme

I stared grimly at Orain, feeling Bella's hand touch my shoulder lightly. I turned away abruptly.

"I may be a traitor, yes," i said quietly. "But at least i have
some[i] compassion."

Then i walked away without another word.

Orain

I gritted my teeth as the two of them left me. Compassion? Compassion is for the weak. Compassion gives your enemy a chance to come back, I thought, already running over an escape plan in my head, And they'll see the truth of that as soon as I get free.

"Watch him!" the girl said to one of the guards, before following Thyme. The guard looked through to me.

I smiled menacingly at him, "You know I'm a powerful sorcerer, right?" The man grunted. "I thought so. You won't be turning your back on me for a second then, just in case I vanish into thin air." Another grunt, and he started to turn away from me.

I felt my grin broaden, and I began muttering a few nonsense words. The guard spun around, spear level with my throat, "Don't be trying anything funny on me now, sorcerer."

I let an expression of shock and hurt appear on my face, "Now why would I do that? You're my only source of entertainment in this place!"

"I'm warning you, mage."

"Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out that way. I meant to say that if I'm going to be kept in here like an animal, I need some kind of intelligent conversation, and my old friend doesn't look like he's going to be providing me with that anytime soon, you know what I'm saying?"
