My Drawings!

Ok, yet another drawing of mine! This one you guys might not really recognize, but it's the Master Sword from Ocarina of Time. Not a very good picture of the drawing *shakes fist at non-existent scanner* but it should do...

That's really good. I'm not sure if I'm right about this, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the sword that you pull out of a rock and it determines whether or not you're the next king/prince/knight/lord or whatever? I'm really bad with Fantasy.

Ha ha. No. *points to post* 'Tis from de Legend of Zelda, no? The main character does pull it from the pedestal, but with completely different consequences.

I really like that last sword one. The light around it and the gloom behind it is really cool. But the hilt looks way too long. Shorten that up a little and it would be even cooler.

One thing I must say about the gloom/light: Even if something's blocking the light, it would never be that straight and solid of a line. Light scatters, especially when it's further from the light source. So, perhaps you could smudge the line taht separates the gloom and the light? Or blur it?

For the very first drawing you posted, the battleaxe is my favorite! Omg! It's wicked!! My only issue is that that's such a short handle for something so bulky. Especially if that something is double-sided...could be quite the disaster, your weapon. lol.

And, the dragon...I'm not so sure...it seems a little busy around the neck and snout. First glance, I was, "What in heaven's name is that?!" then the next moment I was, "Oh, it's a unicorn. She's pretty." Then I relized it was a dragon...heh. but that could just be me. Maybe make the scales a bit more calm?

Hmm, got a point there. See, I did this all with a single 8b pencil, so it's naturally dark, but I think I could lighten up the lines on the snout a bit by lightly erasing with a kneaded eraser. 'Cause like Silly said, they look like a net! XD That's why I've normally stayed away from actually drawing scales (not to mention how long it takes! >.<) but since the focus was all on the dragon's head I had to do something to show more detail. Oh well...
About the unicorn thing--I've had lots of people say my dragons look like horses, but (to me) the skeletal structure is very similar (but the dragon has a little bit of a lupine/canine influence in the build of the legs, too), and when you add a horn to them (I have a whole series of dragons with 'unicorn' horns actually ^_^) it looks too much like a horse. Except the wings and the horns on the back of the head, not to mention claws. XD

I should probably try to change that somehow, though...

True (about the gloom). I tried to do that, but I guess it wasn't quite enough, eh? I might be able to fix that, too... And you're also right about the hilt. I'll fix that if I ever come back to that picture...

I'm currently working on a picture (finally) of two horses/riders along a riverbank. I've got the first horse done, am working on the second, but the riders always give me grief. >.< Any tips on how to draw mounted riders would be greatly appreciated!

Well, the attachment thingy seems to be working for me again...sort of. So I'll try this again.

Below I have a quick sketch that's a take-off of a bumper sticker I've seen many times. Pretty self-explanatory there. Done in about twenty to thirty minutes; I don't really how long it takes me to make something, and I was just doodling 'cause I was bored when I did this. So that's a rough estimate.

Haha, I love this saying! I use it often. Very well done, all of them. For this dragon, work on the shape of the head, wings and hands. (paws?)

This is Young Link from the OoT manga. This frame (for those not familiar with the game/manga) comes directly after Zelda and Impa flee Hyrule Castle with Ganon on their heels. Zelda tosses the Ocarina to Link as they run past.

I also have a version of this with a cruddy background, but I decided for viewing purposes that the white background worked better. *stinks at backgrounds* -.- (The reason why there wasn't already one sketched in is 'cause this is part of a larger sketch sheet of OoT Links/Zeldas I did a while back). (And yes, I know Navi's wing looks weird. See previous excuse. Her wing crossed over with one of the adult Links on the sketch page. )

Free-handed with reference, #2 pencil, colored in GIMP.

Ok I don't usually do art because I feel like I have no clue what I'm talking about but I like Link so I'll try in this case.

First off I really like the coloring. Everything is colored nicely and of the perfect shade. I even like the wave like quality it shows, it kind of makes his clothes look more like material of some kind.

I do think this picture could benefit from a background. I'm sure you're perfectly good at making them.

And yes Navi's wing is a bit off but you explained that. I also think her body is a bit off. To me it doesn't look round enough. Lastly the tag that says Young Link on his hat probably shouldn't be there. It distracts me from the amazing picture. You could probably label it a little more discreetly.

This is true. Unfortunately, I'm not good enough with GIMP where I can photoshop it enough to get that tag out of there... The reason it's there in the first place is I didn't really have anywhere else to put it on the sketch page (though I suppose, at the time I'd drawn this, I could have... *whistles innocently).

OMG I read the translation, too! Took me about another year or two to actually figure out there was an English verison... xD

I also hate Floormasters. But they're fun to draw...except the whole "I can't draw hands" thing. xD (Though you are...which is rather ironic considering you hate evil zombie hands. xP)
