My Drawings!

He he. I don't know where to start! I've got so many drawings! XD So, what do you like the sound of better?

1. One of my better people drawings

2. A dragon that won 5th in a county fair

3. A set of weapons and relics that I drew for a friend

I would put Firnath up there, too, but it has its own thread.

NOTE: ANYONE WHO TRIES TO TAKE THESE AS THEIR OWN HAS NO CLUE WHAT THEY'RE GETTING INTO >:O

Ok, then. Here are the weapons. I drew these for a friend's story, but the last two relics aren't finished. I don't know how much you'll be able to see of it (I don't have a scanner, sorry! ) but hopefully it'll be something...

Yeah, that's really hard to see. From what I can see, your weapons don't really... amaze me. Honestly not trying to be mean here. But, they don't. Not saying that you have to be some big fancy artist to blow my mind, but there lacks originalityl. Maybe add some funky features or some effects to make it... glow? Lol I don't know.

Hmm. Try re-taking it in some better lighting. ^_^

Let's see if this original pic I had looks better (you won't be able to see the bottom sword, though). And it doesn't matter if they don't really look as impressive as Firnath (for example)--they aren't supposed to be anything real special, just a couple weapons I quickly sketched and added color to one night when my friend and I were talking about our stories.
Anyway, there they are! I've have the other two up after this one.

Ah. Much better! I like the sword on the far left. The one with the brown handle/hilt? I'm not good with the terms. ^_^ But, that one's cool. The blue one in the middle (again. I don't know its correct name) could be a bit sharper to make it look... weapon-ish. lol Right now, it looks a bit to rounded to do any kinda harm to anyone. The yellow sword is OK. Not my favorite out of the bunch, because it lacks that originality that I was talking about. Spoof it up! ^_^

The four little stones at the bottom are neat, as well. But, maybe you could make them into different shapes with cool little edges like the other two. Ya know? They look kinda... plain when they're just circles.

Otherwise, I like these! You did very good. A lot better than I could ever do. Stick people are my specialty! ^_^

Parade Dragon. This one got 5th in my county fair last year in the senior division. The picture of it isn't so good cause the light from the window behind it got in the way. T T But other than that...

He/She's gorgeous! I love the design you have around its eye and the net thingy on its mouth. Very pretty. It kinda reminds me of an Indian lady... in animal/creature form, for some reason. That's a compliment, mind you. This is my favorite! ^_^

You should have at least gotten second or third. Beautiful work.

I don't mean to sound like I'm pushing your praise to the side, but those are actually scales on the dragon's nose. ^^ Yeah, my scales tend to look a lot like netting. And the white area with the design near the eye is a kinda drape or something (don't know what to call it!) around *her (I think)* head.

I don't think that made any sense...yeah, I'm confusing that way! ^^;

Now that that's done, I can get to your comments about the weapons! The sword on the far left is called a katana, and you were right in calling the brown coloring on the 'handle' the hilt. The blue one in the middle is an axe, though my friend originally called it the Aqua Blade but told me it was an axe for some reason. O.o So that one's a bit messed up anyway! The one on the right is his version of Excalibur; it is kinda plain, though, like you said. Unfortunately, after they get colored, it's a bit difficult to change anything. ^^;

All right, now here's the last one (I personally think it's my best). Now I don't normally draw people, but I think this one is one of my *few* better ones. ^_^ I called it 'Hylian Traveler' as I was supposed to be drawing it as something from one of my fanfictions. The horse is a bit awkward in the picture, but it looks a lot better in person. Anyway--here it is!

Axe! That's right. I knew that, but I couldn't think of the word. Anywho. Moving on now.

I don't know about the person in this picture. The rest is really nice, but the person looks kinda odd/uncomfortable. They're sitting up a little bit too straight... which I can imagine isn't exactly the most comfortable way to sit. I would suggest, if you're up to re-drawing this, they be a LITTLE hunched over to make it look like they're gazing in a trance at something. It would make them look like they're interested in whatever they're looking at.

The horse, on the other hand, I didn't think was awkward at all. O_o Lol We apparently have different tastes. The horse looks perfectly fine to me, though its body is kind of big, which makes its neck look unnaturally thin. Maybe make its mane longer? Or just give it a bigger neck? I don't know, but the proportion is a little off. Otherwise, fantasitc job! You have talent in drawing, in my opinion. ^_^

Oh, as for the gray circle thing on the page. See how there looks to be a light sketch over your picture? And it's taking up the whole page? Yeah. What is that? It looks kinda like a giant gray face... which doesn't fit the picture.

Oh, man, I really love the dragon one! I've always been a sucker for dragons, just 'cause they're the most amazing magical creatures ever. But I have to agree with Syd about the person drawing, because the person in the picture looks a bit weird/uncomfortable. Maybe it's just because we can't actually see the full quality of the picture, though.

I think you're right. =/ Meh. She looks a lot better in the actual drawing. And she's supposed to have a stiff back because she's alert--looking at the mountains. I hope you get what I mean. *sigh* *wishes she had a scanner* >.<

Umm, I honestly have no clue. ^^; It might be just the lighting or the way the pencil strokes blend together...or something. Let's see if *this* picture looks better:
