Coming Soon: YWS Enemies

YWS Friends has been up and running now for some time, although it's really the return of YWS Friends as it used to be a feature prior to the 2006 summer blackout. I'm slowly adding features on top of that; the first of those being the YWS Bulletins feature. I may even add a Facebook style newsfeed here soon; just a panel on My YWS that would tell you when your friends made a new blog entry, posted a new story, or last wrote in someone's guestbook. But that got me thinking: if you can keep track of your friends, why not keep track of your enemies as well? After all, you can't get along with everyone on YWS (I only get along with one or .5 people), so wouldn't it be great if you could keep track of your enemies as well? I know I forget from time to time, and it'd be great if when looking at someone's profile it would tell me "This Person Is Your Declared Enemy." You could even have an enemy newsfeed, so you could constantly stalk and harass that person. Just something I was thinking about. I think it would be a cool idea, but before I spend a couple hours implementing it, would you use it?

I'm a little leary of this. If you choose whether or not to give them the accept/decline choice, than it might stop some unnessacary drama before it starts. I've seen a friend list cause some major drama; how much more drama an enemy list cause....

If it was used playfully, that's a compltetely different story. In facebook, you can poke people in your lists, or throw turkeys at them....I sort of, heh-heh, threw a turkey at my sister....*tries to look repentant, but fails miserably*

I like the idea, but I can see some drawbacks. It makes me a little nervous.

Or, y'know, everyone on the site is plotting to put you at the top of their Enemies list.

I think when used in a lighthearted way, the Friends/Enemies thing is fun. I've said this before, but www.friendsorenemies.com has a similar feature. It's fun to start mini-wars amongst people. ^^

I agree absolutely with Koko and Dynamo.

I think all this would do is perpetuate anger and resentment on YWS, instead of being good natured fun. I think it's a bad idea which is doomed to fail.
