I was surprised - it was my room, but a bit messier, if that were possible, "Wow."

"Yeah, it's messy, isn't it."

"I'm sure you know where everything is though."

She grinned, "Sure do - how'd you know?"

I put her down, "My room's in about the same state."

I giggled, "I think the only thing we're neat about is our clothes...only because we don't want to pick up each others underwear by mistake."

"That would be akward?"

"Most akward."
I just lost the game.

I grinned, "Well, avoiding something like that would probably be a good idea then."

"Yep."

The sun woke me up finally. It shone in brightly from my second floor window, passing through a part in the curtains to let its rays lay right on my face.

I slowly rose, careful not to wake Kai, and stretched, extending my long limbs as far as they would reach as I arched my back. Glancing at the clock, I saw that it was almost nine.

A quick, warm shower woke me up the rest of the way, and I put on sweats, a sports bra, and a t-shirt. Pulling my dripping hair into a ponytail, I quiety entered the room again to see Kai stirring.

I stood against the doorframe of the bathroom for a few minutes, watching him as he struggled to wake and realize that it was morning.

"Good morning," I smiled when he finally found me. "Sleep good?"

Without further ado, I moved towards the punching bag and began warming up with loose boxing techniques.

I saw that Bella was sleeping in her bed and decided to be evil. I limped over to her and shook her awake. "Bella!"

She blinked up at me, "Alice! Where the hell were you last night?"

I motioned to Billy, "we got lost."

"You got lost?"

"Its me."

"Oh yeah. What's up with your ankle? It's purple..."

"I twisted it."
I just lost the game.

(I've noticed that a lot of people have been putting an 's' at the end of the word 'toward.' I don't see that as proper grammar. Saying something like, "He walked towards her," is like saying, "He stood besides her." Can you see what I'm saying?)

Kai put on the pants he had worn last night, but couldn't find his shirt. He decided to let it go for now to be with Audra for a little bit.

He watched as she hit the punching bag. There was a lot of potential in her strikes, but...

"Audra," Kai said as he moved forward. He stood beside her in front of the punching bag. "Your punches are good, but you swing your arms too much and lose most of your power." Kai got into a karate fighting stance. He held one arm at his side and the other out in front of him. "When you throw your next punch, have your fists cross over each other. Pull as hard as you can with your retracting fist and it'll act like a slingshot, sending more power through your other arm." He demonstrated and landed a very solid blow to the punching bag. The punching bag flew back further than when Audra hit it. He caught it before it swung back and hit him.

"I didn't know you knew karate," Audra said.

"When I lived with my parents I went with my dad two days a week for two hours. In my last school I even started my own karate club." He looked at her. "What about you?"

"Hmm?"

"You have good form when you throw your punches. I assume you had martial arts training of some kind?"

"My dad knows a thing or two about karate, so he taught me the basics," I shrugged. "And, I had to take self defense when I was younger..."

I let it trail off. It was always hard to talk about my past...those years as a preteen and a young teen.

I half smiled, a feeble attempt to play off my ghosts as Kai reached out and stroked my cheek.

"It's nothing to worry about..." I tried, placing my hand over his.

I was a bad liar. Of course it was bad! I was just too stubborn and proud to let it show, but too weak to let go.

Kai pulled her in and wrapped his arms around her stomach. He held her tight and planted a soft kiss on her neck.

"Don't worry, I understand. You feel you need to trust me more before you can tell me. When you're ready to talk about it, I'll listen."

"It's not that I don't trust you," Audra said. "I just have a hard time telling people about my past."

"Lot's of people do," Kai said. "When you feel comfortable enough around me, I'll gladly lend you an open ear." He planted another kiss on her neck. "All I want is for you to be happy."

Audra smiled and reached back to stroke Kai's check. She turned her head so she could see his face and pulled him in for a kiss.

How could I not trust him? How could I not love him? After all, we'd gone all the way with our relationship, already.

He was distracted by the taste of my lips, I could tell. Yet, I had a strange urge...a mischevious, playful urge.

I took advantage of the situation, turning so that I was face to face with him, my body pressed against his. I let my hands slide down to his torso, to his ribs, hinting that I was only pulling him closer.

I tackled him, and we rolled across the floor, laughing.

"Got you!" I giggled as I sat on his stomach, pinning him to the floor. "Sorry. I couldn't resist!"

The other girl, Bella, stared at me for a moment, then whispered something in Alice's ear. She nodded, the two of them giggling for a moment. I smiled a little and sat down on the other bed.

Alice grinned at me sheepishly, "Don't worry, Bill. It's just a girl thing."

I nodded knowingly. A girl thing? That's a lie and you know it, Bill.

Shut up.

Aww, come on, cut me some slack. Before her, I was all you had in this place. You can't just hang me out to dry now. What are you gonna do when she ditches you?

That's not going to happen.

Oh really? Remember the last one?

Alice is different.

Right. Well, you need me. You can't, or rather won't, cut me loose.

Watch me.

Kai tried to sit up but Audra kept her hands on his chest, using her weight to keep him pinned down. Kai laughed and gave her his usual melting smile. "Look's like you've got me trapped." He put a hand on Audra's and stroked it.

She couldn't resist him. That look in his eyes was something playful yet dangerous, like a lion. She bent down to kiss him, and he kissed back. Kai wrapped both his arms around Audra's. She let out a sudden 'eep' when Kai rolled over so he was now on top and she was on the bottom.

"Now I'm on top," he said, his eyes glimmering with mischief.

I giggled. He had gotten me with my own trick.

"I see that," I laughed.

But I couldn't help but wonder...what was he thinking that made him look so playful, yet dangerous...a crouching tiger?

There was no way I could get out of this one. He was a lot stronger than me, and more powerful. He had me pinned.

I limpped over to Billy and sat on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck to prevent me from falling, "whatcha thinking about?"

He shook his head and looked down at me, "nothing, its a guy thing."

Alice giggled and slid off his lap to get the ace bandage out of her bookshelf.

I grinned a little, "You keep your bandage on your bookshelf?"

"Of course, is there a problem with that?" She asked, looking back at me.

"No, no. It just seems like an...odd place to keep a bandage."

"It's better than not knowing where it is."

"So now that you've got me pinned, what are you gong to do?" Audra asked, the playfulness thick in her voice.

Kai bent down and whispered, "This."

They kissed, and with that one brush of lips came the rush of passion that had fueled them to go all the way last night. Kai's long hair trailed along Audra's face as they kissed. She grabbed a handful of that long dark brown, almost black hair. She loved his hair, loved that it was so long. She could run her fingers through it, through all of it. The sensation of feeling his hair between her fingers brought a moan from deep in her throat.

When they finally came up for air they laughed. Laughed because they were happy, happy just to be there with each other. Audra would never trade this feeling for anything in the world, and in her heart she knew Kai wouldn't, either.

"Are you hungry?" Audra asked. As if on cue, Kai's stomach let out a loud growl. It made Audra laugh. Before she had thought of him as some kind of dangerous lion, now he seemed more like a puppy. "Let me up and I'll make you some breakfast."

Kai smiled and planted one more kiss on her lips before rolling off her body. Audra got up and headed for the fridge. As soon as she opened it she sighed, "Empty..." She turned to Kai. "Sorry, I was planning on going grocery shopping today."

"We can get some breakfast at the cafeteria, it's open on weekends," Kai suggested. "And after that I can help you with your grocery shopping."
