I grinned, "oh nothing...." and I started trailing away leaving him behind. Snow started falling from the sky, "pretty," she breathed as he caught up with her.
I just lost the game.

A few snowflakes landed on me arm, and I shivered a little, "Yeah, but it's cold. Maybe we should go back inside."

"No! It's nicer out here."

I sighed a little, "Fine, we'll stay out here a bit longer, but then can we head back inside. We don't have to go back to the dance or anything if you don't want to."

I smiled, but felt a little guilty about it, he looked cold. I took his jacket off and gave it back to him.

"No, you keep it on," he insisted.

"I'm the one making us stay out here remember? You get to wear the jacket."
I just lost the game.

I shook my head, "No, you wear it. You were cold when it wasn't snowing. Besides, I've been colder."

"I've had it for a bit, it's your turn now."

"My turn? We're having the jacket in turns now?"

"Yes."

"Well, I don't want to wear it," I said, folding my arms, partly to show I wasn't taking it, partly to fight off the cold.

"Fine, no one's going to wear it then. It's just going to go to waste."

"Alright, alright. You win. I'll take the jacket. But when you start getting cold, it'll be your turn again."

I let my arm slide around his waist as we walked, soaking in his heat. That's what you get for not wearing sleeves!

"I hope you've seen the campus at night," I said.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because I've got no clue where we are."
I just lost the game.

I stopped again, "Well, that's going to be a problem."

"Oh no, don't tell me..."

"I was relying on you."

"You were relying on me?"

"You've been here longer..." I muttered, a little embarrassed.

"Aww, don't worry," she said, hugging me closer to her, "I'm sure we'll be fine, we'll find our way back sooner or later."

"Do you remember how many turns we made?" she asked.

HE shook his head.

"Alright, I'll climb the tree and see which way it is."

his eyes went wide, "what?"
I just lost the game.

"What do you mean you're going to climb a tree?"

"I'm going to climb a tree."

"What about the snow on the tree? I mean, there's not much, but it'll be slippery. And you won't be able to see."

"If I fall I'll land on my feet, just like a cat."

He gave me a crazy look, "you're not near as graceful as a cat."

"I'm not that graceful peroid, but I won't get hurt too bad."

I sighed and gave her a hand up into the tree, "Well, I still don't think this is a great idea, but I'll try to catch you if you fall."

I could barely make out the mischievous grin on her face as she looked down at me, "Don't you mean 'when'?"

My arms held a death grip on every limb I encountered as I climbed higher and higher into the tree. "I still can't see it!" I said.

"Really?"

"Really!"

"Well then come down, no sense for you to risk killing yourself if you can't see it."

Smiling I started to climb back down. Grateful that I wasn't wearing my shoes, I defiently would have fallen then.

I waited for her as she started climbing down, then, just a meter above me, she slipped. She let out a short scream, but I moved under her almost straight away, arms out and ready to catch her like how I'd seen it done in movies.

Unfortunately, the movies made it look a lot easier than it was, and she just fell on top of me.

"Oh merde!" I shouted and climbed off of him, my ankle raidiating pain. "I'm so sorry are you okay?"

"I should be asking you that," he said, "you're the one who fell."

"And I fell on you, so if you're hurt its my fault. If I'm hurt its my fault too."

I stood up, brushing the snow off my sleeves. Good thing I was wearing the jacket. I smiled at her, "Well, I was meant to catch you. But I'm fine - what about you?"

"My ankle hurts, I think I might've twisted it or something."

I winced, "Ouch. Can you walk on it?"

"Probably, I've twisted both my ankles once and had to walk home."

"What were you doing?"

"Playing kick-ball, I stepped in a hole and kept on running, slipped and twisted the other one."

"How old were you?" He helpped me to my feet as he asked.

"That time...seven, I actually had a bunch of my friends living on my block, and every day we'd get together and do something like that."
I just lost the game.
