Christine groaned as the cold air rushed to meet her and she wrapped her arms around herself.

"Why didn't you wear a cloak?" the other angel asked.

"I lost it," Christine murmered, she had lost her cloak, and all of her other blongings only two days before, in a fire that had destroyed her home and everything she had ever cared about. "Along with the rest of my life."

"What?"

"Nevermind," she waved the question off and turned to ask one of her own, "what is really going on here?"
I just lost the game.

Catore- Gabriel:

I glanced down at the other angel. "You don't know?"

She didn't say anything.

"You don't know about the war?" I asked sceptically. I found it hard to believe anyone could not know.

Neither- Ariel:

I stopped at the edge of the trees, staring at the sight in front of me.

Hello? Who are you? a strong and commanding voice drifted through my head.

I'm Ariel. i answered to the giant gold dragon's thoughts.

Solyver- Thyme:

I started at the unexpected offer. Me tell the leader of out clan if we should go to war. I was only a humble soldier, nothing more.

I opened my mouth to talk but was suddenly interupted by a loud, sharp crack. I spun around as a large section of the ceiling collapsed, bringing with it another person. I instantly changed into my Wolf form, instinct kicking in before rational thought. I let out a low and threatening growl. She had about five seconds to talk.

"I know about the war...Did I stumble apon a council about it?"

He nodded.

"Oh dear...I was only hoping to find an excape from the wind."

"You found it, and so much more."
I just lost the game.

(You could come back to the caves, Amber. Or fly out and run into the angels. Christine and Gabriel.)

*Catore

I'm Ariel. A voice answered him.

Well, Ariel, it's peculiar to see you hiding there. Are you lost? If not, please assure me you're not afraid. Nyugan relaxed his tone, trying to sound gentle. Being a large dragon made that nigh impossible, however.

He waited for her answer.

*Solvyer

Goron roared shortly, startling the now wolf Thyme and the new arrival.

Easy, Thyme. It is just Kaile, one of my scouts.

Goron tilted his head to make sure. Yes, it was Kaile. There was no need to worry about intruders, just news of Nyugan's front.

What the news? Goron asked Kaile before turning back to Thyme. I'll be waiting for your decision as well, Thyme, in a moment.

Kaile - Solvyer

Kaile looked sharply at Goron. "That's is just it. There is no news."

Goron narrowed his eyes.

"I mean there has been no Catore movement in my area whatsoever, nothing." She stretched one wing as Goron and the wolf who she had not met stared at her. "Until a few minutes ago there had been no sign of travellers either, two men passed through the west quarter, but otherwise I haven't seen or heard anyone."

The wolf looked up at Goron questioningly and then looked back at her.

She stepped towards it and pushed her hood back slightly so the wolf could just see the tip of her nose and her mouth. "I don't think we have been introduced." she said with a wry smile.

Neither- Ariel:

I smiled. No worries, I'm not scared. Dragons from Catore don't scare me.

He chuckled. I glanced at the other people nearby. Who are these people? Catores too?

Solyver- Thyme:

I growled and barred my teeth, flexing my huge wings. The tips brushed the sides of the chamber. I stood nearly as tall as Goron now.

"I'm Thyme," I said, a low snarl emitting from deep within my chest. I studied the newcomer.

*Catore

Nyugan nodded to her. Yes, they are Catore as well. Well...most of them are. There are perhaps two that have not chosen sides yet.

Nyugan wrapped his tail around his body, using the tip of it to push the brush aside. The elf was finally completely revealed. Would you care to join us? More company is no trouble.

*Solvyer

Goron "grinned," letting his bloodstained fangs glisten.

Kaile, I have left Thyme here with a simple decision. Do we go to war? Should we attack the Catores at their base?

How would you like to be her advisor and scout?

Goron couldn't resist the temptation. He had to see how Nyugan would react to this.

Kaile showed no expression. She pondered the task for only a few moments. She had been spying on the Catore for a while now and she knew every inch of their territory.

She fixed Goron with a stare, and even though her eyes were hidden by her hood he knew she was looking at him.

The one corner of her mouth curled into a smile and she lowered her gaze so that shadow once again fell completely across her face. "I would be delighted."

She didn't lift her chin but gazed out from under her hood. Thyme still didn't trust her. "On one condition. Thyme has to trust me. How can I be a scout and advisor if I am not trusted?"

*I'm confused for Solyver. Who's becoming Who's adviser and scout?*

Neither- Ariel:

I shrugged. If it would be no trouble, then I'll join you, yes. I've been without decent company for a while now. The last person i've seen was the other dragon with you. I gestured to the female dragon and smiled politely.

Catore- Gabriel:

The other angel looked up at me questioningly. I sighed and started to explain.

"I fear the war is going to break out any day now. Goron is not to be trusted, as he is unpredictable and reckless. We were gathering here today to discuss what we were going to do if, or better said, when he attacks. Of course, we will not attack first so we can only wait for his first strike."

I looked down at her to see her reaction.

*Sorry 'bout that. Thyme is in charge, and Kaile will be the scout and advisor. Does that clear things up for you?

********

*Catore

Nyugan took a step back, giving her room to move into the open. It is no trouble. He chuckled before continuing. I will be the one causing trouble, thanks to this monstrous size I cannot help and my lack of nerves to maintain enough control to stay in humanoid form!

He turned to the others. This is Ariel. She will be joining us.

*Solvyer

Goron snorted, tossing his head.

Fine. I will leave you two to build trust between each other. Until then, I'll be waiting on the peak.

With that, he turned and leapt, bursting into flight as he passed through the entrance. He soared high over the intermontane base; many of the people below looked up to watch him as he flew overhead.

And to think that these people, as loyal as they were, would soon be marching to war...

"Well that seems foolish," Christine said.

"What do you mean?" Gabriel responded.

"What if they're waiting for our one moment of calm, the one moment when our defences are down? What if they attack then? The loss would be so great that perhaps one attack would bring us down."

"How is someone who says she lives in solitude so knowledgable about this?" He leaned away crossing his arms over his chest.

"I didn't always live in solitude," She said, not giving the whole truth.

She soared down from her perch, landing smoothly next to Nyugan. She bowed her head swiftly to show him that she had acknowledged the elf's presence. My apologies for leaving on short notice earlier. Ariel, correct? She had spoken gently to the girl, but had let the conversation leak to the others minds as well.

"Yes, I'm Ariel." She replied in a respectful manner.

Nyugan, what do you plan on doing if Goron attacks? I should think that you are not prepared for such an attack. Nyugan thought of her words for a moment.

I respect your judgments, Jade, but what has drawn you to think he will start this war? Nyugan asked her.

The scouts on the borders are proof enough, my friend. They hide amongst the shadows, watching everyday. Surely they mean not to guard us. With that last statement, she grinned, her sharp teeth creeping out from beneath her lips.

*Catore

Nyugan scratched at the ground in irritation; that was only too true. Jade had a point.

If he does attack, pray that Goron himself does not arrive. We do not need HIM showing up. Nyugan answered her, but made sure that the others could hear as well. We would surely fall then, and the majority of us would be slaughtered.

He closed his mind temporarily, so that he could think. If Goron DOES come, I will be the only one who can fight him. That is certain!

I just hope the others don't get caught in our rage. I doubt I would be able to protect them from both Goron and myself. Under my claws, they would definately be injured.

Yet, do I know that for certain? I've never lost control in a battle, but recently...I don't doubt the possibilities any more.

God help us.
