Zern was in the back of all the wolves, still going through the bushes to get back to camp. She heard her sister gasp, then several other wolves.

What is happening!?

She thought as she raced through the wolves to try to see and get to camp sooner. She kept running until she caught up with her sister, when she tried to stop running, she skidded into the camp and saw it.

Almost as soon as the gasp was out of her throat, Naira felt her sister skid and turned in time to see her crash into herself. The world spun around as they both went flying, closer to the camp. by that time the alphas of both packs had reached the edge of the clearing, as well as the guards. Suddenly Ahanu laughed.

"You pack wolves are excellent house-keepers." His guards growled at him, and he fell silent, still shaking with suppressed laughter.

Cashmere walked into the clearing to find that one of her own wolves was dead.
"Siostra..." Cashmere said quietly, Siostra was her sister. She nuzzled her sister's body. Naira walked up to her mother from behind Cashmere.
"Mother." She said. Cashmere turned around and growled at her pup, then barked at her before she turned around and ran into the woods. Naira still stood there, surprised at her Mother's actions.

The few other wolves that had chosen to stay behind were also dead. All of them. They're family members nosed the bodies, howling mournfully. The camp was completely destroyed. Patches of grass had been dug up, dens collapsed, and nearby foliage pulverized. The damage had almost completely destroyed the Mystic camp. Mansi walked up to Nashoba and nodded her head slowly before speaking.

"We are sorry for your devastation, and we thank you for opening your hospitality to us. However, we must return to our camp to protect it. Your wolves are welcome to stay with us for a few days if you need to."

She finally stopped running and just sat there, in the forest. She heard a purr...no, not a purr, more like a cat version of a growl. At that moment a cougar leaped on her. They rolled out of the woods into the clearing and she threw the cat off of her.

Nashoba hung his head, thinking. the golgot offer was a good one, if he wanted to take it up. A ally in one of the other packs was also very good, especially if he could not persuade the other packs to stop the violence. But.......

"I thank you for your generous offer. I'll have to talk to the alpha female."

Where was Cashmere? He lifte dhis head up to try and sniff the air. He caught a faint scent trail, but she wasn't in the camp. He trotted off to follow it, two warriors automatically following him. Soon after it started, he was distracted by a loud roar. A large lion had Cashmere pinned down, about to deliver a killing blow. Nashoba growled and lept on top of it, his teeth grabbing an ear and ripping it. The lion hissed and jumped off Cashmere, who lay still in the moss, small wounds bleeding sluggishly. Nashoba jumped back, avoiding flailing and razor-sharp claws, hoping his frantic barking would alert the pack. The other two warriors rushed back and forth, biting and darting back, opening a few wounds in the lions side. It began to back up, but then quickly pounced, opening a long gash on the side of one of the warriors, making it yelp with pain.

She finally got up to fight and bit the cat's leg. The cat yelped but then ignored it. Cashmere jumped on the back of the cat, but slipped; and the cat took that opportunity to scratch her belly. She yelped and rolled away from the cat before looking at the long scratch on her belly. She stood up and started howling, warning the pack; she did it for a while before the cat leaped on her again, and they started rolling towards the river.

Naira heard the howls along with the other wolves. They all charged off in the direction of the alphas, but for some reason naira wanted to stay behind. She studied the now vacant clearing aprehensively, scenting the air gently. A flash of movement caught her eye, and her head whipped around. It was Ahanu, only his hind-quarters showing while he was trying to slink away. Naira barked shrilly, running forward with her teeth bared.

Zern ran to Ahanu also and bit his hind leg. He turned around and bit hers. She yelped and backed away, then started howling for help.



Cashmere kept rolling towards the river, without even knowing it. Her and the lion fell into the river, the river started to take the lion with it, but Cashmere held on to land. Then she felt something grab her tail, the lion started pulling her down. Then Nashoba ran down quickly.
"Nashoba!" She stopped when she heard a noise. "Zern! Nashoba, help Zern, she needs you! I'm the sure pack heard me, they will come help me, you save zern." She said desperate for her pup.

Torn, Nashoba twisted around and barked sharply. Cashmere was still holding onto the river's edge, pedaling franticly in the water. Suddenly she yelped with pain, and the mountainlion continued down the river, holding onto a piece of her white-furred tail. Nashoba wheeled and charged off in the direction of Zern's howls, which had now been joined with naira's.

She watched as Nashoba darted away and other wolves came to help her. They pulled her up and bit as the mountain lion to save her.
"Thanks, but now we must help the pups!" Cashmere shouted.


Zern kept howling until Nashoba came and pounced on Ahanu. Zern jumped up too, trying to help.

Zern crashed into Ahanu's side, knocking him off balance. Nashoba bit down on his scruff, not drawing blood but pinning him untill the others arrived.

Zern watched as Nashoba held Ahanu down. Zern held her head up for a split moment, she smelled something. Then she started howling.
"Owwwwwwwwwww! Owwwwwwwwwww! OWWWWWWWWW!" Zern howled on and on. She couldn't tell what animal it was, it was a carnivore, but not a wolf. Was it a bear? A cougar? Or something else?

What was going to happen next? Maira responded to her sister's call by searching the nearby bushes, but didn't see anything. all of the warriors were exhausted by the constant racing through the under-brush, and the fighting. there was no sign of the cats anymore, but they could have been anywhere, hiding quietly. The feeling of eyes on the back of her neck made Naira shiver.

Ahanu was under control, and his guard was ba k at attention, penning him in from all sides.

She watched as Zern sat by Naira when she lost the scent. Cashmere turned back to Mansi.

"We accept your offer." She said. She looked at Zern and Naira again and watched as Zern tackled her sister.
