Audrey: "We sing carols, read the Christmas story, open presents, and eat a lot. Well, my family eats a lot."

Kai: "Well, it usually depends on what year it is. Last year we spent a blue-green-gold Christmas in Hawaii. This year we're going to have a gray Christmas in Detroit. I have never had a white Christmas. Probably never will." *shrug*


What were the circumstances surrounding your birth?

"Well, Mama met Papa when they were both young and innocent and they started walking out together on Sundays and going home from church together and one evening there was a lovely sunset over the sea so they sat down to watch it and by the time they'd finished, sand had got into some very awkward places." ~The Raven

Which of your senses do you rely on the most?

My mind, I guess. I don't-- I mean, is that a sense? I don't know. Maybe, but... Like-- Because of all the stuff I... You know. I mean, things I see, things I hear, things I touch, they could not be real. But in my mind, I always got a train of thought that makes sense to me. So I trust that. And maybe... Who knows, you know? Maybe it's like Descartes says, and nothing is real except that we exist. I mean, for all we know, we're in The Matrix. So, yeah. The mind. Or maybe, I don't know... My nose. Because drugs don't mess with the nose. They don't. You can be so f*ed up you can't even see what's in front of you, but you can sure as hell smell it.

Do we all see the same colours? Like, is your green the same as my green? Inside your mind or whatever? Or is my pink your magenta?

"Are we seeing it at all? Is colour an illusion? Do we see colour, or simply imagine it? Is the world black and white, or is it no colour at all? If colours don't exist and we live in a colourless world that isn't even black and white, does it even matter? If we're happy with our imaginings of colour, then should we question our differences? You see pink and I see magenta, but people always see things differently. We see different faces on the same person, different words on the same page, layers and layers and layers in the world like onion skin, only without the smell." ~Shadow Tattybogle

A friend of yours [Jill] has another friend [Felicity] who you don't know that well. Felicity has a bad illness, and Jill is really worried. You've had Felicity's illness before and know what it's like. What do you say to Jill?

"Huh. I died from Felicity's illness. So, I'd tell Jill that she'd better make sure she's on Felicity's will before it's too late." ~ Genevieve

"That's horrible! You're a terrible friend. How can you be so heartlessly blunt?" ~Cass

"And what would you say?" ~Genevieve

"I wouldn't tell Jill anything. I'd most likely keep away from her as much as possible to avoid having to deal with tears." ~Cass

Your mortal enemy just asked you over for tea. Do you decline, or accept? How do you go about this?

Alana: Of course I accept! Why wouldn't I? I probably wouldn't drink the tea though because it would probably be laced with poison, and I've never had tea before so I don't know if I would even like it. If he tried to make a move I would just kick him in the neck and leave. It would be fun.


You have just realized that your oldest and most trusted friend is actually trying to kill you. What do you do? Flee? Try to fight? How would you confront them?

Callista: You kidding me? Iris, ugh, that quirk. She couldn't kill a fly. Unless, of course, you're not talking about Iris. You could be talking about Will, but he's more than a friend, so I don't know. And he wouldn't try to kill me, either. But then again, how much do I really know him? This is so difficult! You know what? I refuse to answer this question on account of its stupidity! Yep. That's right. So haha.

William: Callista, you are being absurd. Neither Iris nor I would make an attempt on your life. Don't you trust us? Don't you trust ME?

Callista: Nonsense, Will, of course I trust you. But then again, you did lie to me that one time.

William: I DIDN'T KNOW!!!

Callista: Sure you didn't.



Have you ever experienced death? How has it affected you? Do you think you could have done anything to stop it?

Alana: I came close I guess when I fought Face to the death. Everything went very dark and I couldn't see. It was extremely painful for a while when I could finally feel all of my injuries but then I slipped into this blissful states of unfeeling.
The experience of almost dying hasn't really affected me that much. The fight in general has affected me more.
I suppose I could have not fought Face but, I really don't regret doing that at all. It was worth it.



What is your biggest fear? What makes it so scary?

Callista: My biggest fear is that William might not love me for me, but because of the prophecy. Because supposedly I'm gonna be queen and whoever I love will be king? Supposedly, anyway.
But now, I guess I'm not really that afraid of that, now, am I? No, I trust Will, and gods (that is, if there even are any) know we already went through all the pain. No, what I'm most afraid of is that this could all just be a half-dream, and we don't exist. It's terrifying, because then everything we do, all the pain and all the joy, is worth nothing. Absolutely nothing. And that's just a rip off, you know?


Describe your best day ever. What makes it so special?

"Best day ever? It might be the day before Quennel and Dorian arrived. We had chicken stew for tea. And dumplings. I love dumplings. Gravy. Hot and thick and with those little strands of meat in, and Mother would worry about the amount of cornflour she put in, whether it was thick enough or not. Nothing like a good chicken stew." ~Shadow Tattybogle

Do you mind being laughed at?

Callista: Not particularly. I laugh at myself anyway, so I suppose it doesn't really matter too much.

Iris: Well, that depends. What am I being laughed at?

William: The only people I know are my family, Callista, and Iris, and they wouldn't laugh at me; they'd laugh with me.



What is the one thing in the world you love the most, and why do you love it?

"Hoarding shiny stuff, growing up to be a male, mastering dragon magic, getting out of this teenage girl and drinking lots of ink." ~Ryo, a dragon.

"All I wanted to do when I was younger was show up the boys in sword-play and become a smith. Now, however, I'm not so sure." ~Ruby.

"When I was a little girl I just wanted to live a regular life. But now my life is anything but regular." ~Imelda.
