"They do tend to work alone, I do really like the woman there though."

"She's the one who saved your life right?"

Amanta nodded.

"Then I like her a lot too."

"I don't like the deal they offered though."

"Why not?"

"They assist us in our war in exchange for us waging war against the two other nations? It just doesn't seem to work out, at least in my head."

"It's simple really," I replied. "They can't defeat the other nations on their own so they enlist our help because they know we can be bought. Then they try to trick the Desert people into joining us."

"And how and why would they do that?"

"Well the Desert men have a strong sense of honour and if the sea assassins convince them that the mountain people have evil sorcerers (which may be true) then the desert people will join our alliance to defeat them."

"And that's the assassin's goal is it?"

"No. Not quite. Then they will try to scare the mountain people into joining them. If they accept, the land will be at peace under the sea assassin's terms and due to them so they will have primary power and if they refuse, the assassins will have us and the desert men destroy them."

"But that's... that's horrible. Who wants a peace like that?"

"They do of course."

"But... we wouldn't stay on the alliance if the Desert men joined us. Surely they know that. If they're smart enough to create a plan like that then how can they think we'll stay with them?"

"That's what's been worrying me but perhaps we should ask the assassin in the tree behind us? Or maybe Delita. He's hiding behind the tent over there. Or there's always Aren seenas you like her so well. I think she's in the oak to our right."

"The pine actually," A voice from behind answered. "And you missed Kenran but how very smart of you."

"Working out the plan or finding you?"

"Both," A new voice answered as a young man with short, blond hair dropped out of the Pine tree along with Aren. Silver approached from behind and Delita came from the left.

Sorry. The assassins are there because they're spying on them and at the beginning, Amanta and Luke are talking alternatively, starting with Luke. And the first Assassin to speak is Silver. Then Luke replies with 'Working out the plan or finding you' and Kenran answers that. Does that make more sense?

"You know, I don't really think that solders should think so freely" Silver stated
"Why?" Luke asked.
"It's not good for them, it gets them thinking that they are more then just simple solders." Silver replied coolly.
"Simple sol-" He was cut off by Aren.
"There is no need to be insulting our possible allies."
"It's not my fault that he thinks he's so great when he has just a bit more brains then he should" Silver stated with a look of total superiority.

"Luke's as humble as any other," Amanta said, then with a sympathetic look to Luke she added, "even more so sometimes."

"Oh really?" Silver said mockingly.

"Really, and you shouldn't insult someone for being intelligent, its just proof that you're not."

"How about we discuss the changes to the outlined plan now?" I asked.

"Changes?" Silver repeated. "And why would we change the plan?"

"I already pointed out your major flaw did I not?" I took a step closer to Amanta.

"True. I suppose you people might switch sides but maybe we've compensated for that," Silver smirked again and took a step forward.

"You know, you're all alone on the edge of camp and there are four of us and two of you," Delita stepped forward, drawing a dagger. I pulled Amanta closer to myself and noticed that Kenran and Aren seemed hesitant to draw their own weapons. Certainly a good sign but I wasn't going to trust to that so I took out my own sword.

"What do you two think you are doing?" Aren demanded stepping in front of the two. "I don't know the plan you talk about, but I don't care. You can't just go and try to kill two people that have done nothing to hurt you."

"Get out of the way," Silver hissed at her,

"No, what is wrong with you?" She demanded "You two are both acting really weird." Delita wasn't a little hesitant now. Silver took another step forward and she pulled her dagger out and looked him in the eyes. "One more step, one more step closer and I'll kill you."

"Your a kid," He smiled,

"That may be true but I've been around enough to know how to take someone twice my age." She replied,

"Keep behind me Amanta and step back, Aren. If you're with us then take Amanta and get her to the centre of camp," I backed away as I said this, pulling Amanta with me and Aren hesitated a moment but then she nodded. Aren turned, took Amanta's hand and half dragged her towards the thicket of tents behind us.

"Luke, what are you doing?" Amanta called after me but I couldn't turn my eyes away from the assassins. Delita moved as if to follow the girls but Kenran blocked him off.

"Leave those two out of this. I don't know what your quarrel with the boy is but deal with him and leave the girls alone. Besides, aren't these supposed to be our new allies?" Kenran crossed his arms across his chest.

"That girl's too silly to understand what you told her. Fortunate for her but you, you seem to know a little too much," Silver decided.

"Do you seriously think I was going to stay away?" Aren asked smiling letting her go. "I don't know, I don't know much about him."

"What are we going to do?" Amanta asked,

"I don't know, but I won't let them do this. Sense your a healer you should stay away. Stay in a tree or something. But stay away from them." She said,

"No, I can't let them hurt Luke." Amanta snapped,

"I won't let them, just stay away, you got it?" Aren asked, "Cause I will tie you up if I have to. Luke doesn't know what he is facing, especilly with Delita." Amanta nodded and Aren made sure she climbed a tree before she walked up slowly and quietly towards Silver.

Amanta couldn't see much from the tree, and she defiently couldn't hear anything. She scooted foward trying to get a better view, the branch started to shake. She shut her eyes tight waiting for it to stop.

When she opened her eyes Luke and Aren were returning, Amanta breathed a sigh of releif and climbed back down the tree, somehow managing not to snag her skirts.

"What happened? I could barely see anything," Amanta said.

"We managed to get Silver to go away, but he's still upset," Aren said.

"So you should probably stay clear of him for a while," Luke added to Amanta.

"You shouldn't leave her alone, I don't know much about Silver, but part of me says that wasn't him." Aren said looking around,

"What could it be?" Luke demanded,

"I don't know, anything I guess. But I don't see him destorying a possible allie over nothing." she replied, "I have to talk to Kenran and Delita if that is really him." She said walking back towards where the other two were now talking.

"Wait. Are you sure they wont hurt you?" I called after Aren who turned and nodded.

"Yeah. Whatever got into them, I have a feeling that it involved the mountain sorcerers and they wouldn't gain anything from killing me. We assassinate each other all the time so it would make little difference to the war." With that, Aren hurried back towards the others.

"Come on," I said turning to Amanta. "It's time we were getting back to camp."

"Yeah. I'd better check on that man and then you're going to teach me how to fight."

"I am?"

"Yeah. I'm not going to stand by and watch... people get themselves killed."
