I watched as Zire placed Alexynia by the fire and then stalk away again, Daklana at his side. I didn't trust those two and yet... there was an urge in me to do so. A part of me wanted to get up and dance along to their enchanting song. Perhaps I've just had bad experiences with vampires and maybe my resistance to them is no more than a bias against creatures of the dark but...
I sighed and leant over Alexynia. The bite in her neck was shallow and little blood had been drained so it was an accident, yes? They mistook her for a plain passerby but still. Hadn't Zire implied that they would feed off of animals? With a sigh, I washed the wound with a handful of water, wrapped a cloth bandage around it and pulled her shirt across to hide it.
