Yeah, i suggest what you said. if you get bored, you can pipe in a little about Grey being in jail.

Once Liskano was above ground he start asking merchants where the kings jail house was. He soon learned it was in the center of the city.

When he got to the jail house he slit a couple of the gaurds throats and left them dead in a place where a theif would only see them. He climbed onto the roof and waited.

Caden walked back up the hidden passageway to Molton's inn, pulling off his mask and running a hand over his face.

Molton looked up at him as he entered the commonroom and raised an eyebrow. "You staying the night here?"

"of course I'm staying the night here," Caden said with a casual shrug. "It's the only place i know i won't wake up with my throat slit."

Molton stopped his work to gaze at Caden with an odd look. "Thieves cod protects you from that."

"And the law protects people from us," Caden muttered, pulling off his boots. "Though i'll admit, thieves have a greater respect for the codes than most people do for the laws."

Molton walked over to him, concerned. "You're strung tight," he commented. "What's wrong?"

Caden thought about it, trying to decide whether or not to tell him, but he finally said, "Someone's looking for me."

Molton bit his lip. "Who?"

"If I knew, i'd replace 'someone' with his name," Caden said wearily.

"Well, did you get enough people to get Grey out?"

"Three so far," Caden answered, releived to be off the subject of his stalker. "Amber would make four, but she doesn't trust me any more than I trust her. Said she'll give me an answer tomorrow. Probably thinks I'm using Grey as bait to get her caught."

"You can't blame Amber for being a cynic," Molton said. "It's her nature. it's thieves' nature. You're a suspicious lout too, aren't you?"

Caden grinned wildly. "I'm suspicious, but I'm not lout."

Molton smiled and slapped his shoulder. "Go ahead and get some sleep."

Caden went to his usual room, but he couldn't get to sleep.

Not too late to join for certain and I get the feeling that any species goes... Maybe check with Elven first to be sure.

River

I stuffed my bag of stolen goods under the bed and lay down. I hadn't been so tired in a long time and I soon drifted into a restful sleep... What was that? Instinctively I reached for my dagger but then I remembered where I was and let my hand fall to my side. Sitting up I saw a figure in the doorway of my room.
"It's been a long time since I've seen you. A long time since anyone's seen you," A male voice called out. Rowan.
"I've been busy," I replied absently.

"It's been three whole nights River. Even the humans are starting to worry," Rowan approached my bed and I looked up at his rugged features. He appeared to be about forty but I knew his actual age was closer to two hundred. With Midnight black hair and even darker eyes, he was the oldest of the underground elves and kept a particularly close eye on those of us under fifty.

"I'm sorry Rowan but I've had people following me. What's the latest news?"
"Bad. Charcol has violated the code for the third time. The votes are being cast and most thieves want to hand him over. Only two more members of the council to cast theirs."
"Oh?" I sat up straighter, fierce anger and curiosity running through my veins.
"Yeah. You and Caden."
"How come he hasn't yet?" I demanded.
"That's the other news. Grey got caught. Caden is rounding up... River..." I shoved my bag into my locker to join various other items. Rowan sighed and watched as I hurtled from the room.

With my speed, I soon reached the right exit and swung myself up, through the trap door and into the tavern. All was silent, all asleep. Stealthily I stole up the stairs and crept into the third room on the right. With a bit of luck he should be staying in his usual room... yes.
"Who's there?" Caden hissed. That boy had good hearing. Very good.
"I heard you was recruiting," I replied.

As Liskano was sitting on the roof he pondered what he was going to do once Caden arrived. He heard footsteps on gravel. It was to soft for a human to hear, but his Elvin ears picked it up. Someone was sneaking into here. He drew his sword and was ready.

"Yeah, I'm recruiting," Caden replied, sitting up in the bed. "Why? You interested?"


Btw- Mariah, it says in Grey's bio that Caden helped her escape when she was eight. Since Grey is two years younger than Caden, Caden would have had to been ten, and he disappeared at nine. Do you think you could change that? thanx!

River

"For Grey? Yeah. When do we go?"
"Tomorrow."
"How many people we got?"
"Four with you. Five if Amber comes." I nodded to myself and then turned away again.
"Goodnight Caden," I called before disappearing, back into the night. I located the trap door and slipped back down into the underground city, soon finding myself in a warm, soft bed.

Morning came too soon but I was used to that. I pulled myself from the bed, garbed myself in black clothing and hurried back through the tunnels, back to the tavern. Caden was just eating breakfast and I pulled some coins from my pocket to cover my own.
"Morning River. It's nice to see you again," Molton greeted me.
"Sorry I was gone so long. Had a bit of trouble," I replied with an apologetic grin.

Molton was instantly concerned. "trouble? what do you mean by that?"

River

"They got a lead on me and followed me for a few days but I managed to lose them before I entered the underground city. With a bit of hope they've given up now," I explained, my reply meeting with more concern.
"Are you sure you shouldn't lay low a few days?" Molton asked.
"I'm sure. Besides, it sounds like Caden could use a hand."
"Sometimes I wonder if you're as reckless as Grey," Molton sighed. I shook my head in amusement.

Soon other people filtered in and our group slithered into place. Even Amber turned up and together we set out to the king's jail house. Still a fair distance away we stopped and began our plan.
"Want me to check it out?" I queried. "I'll not be noticed." Caden shook his head.
"No. We'll all go together. Same plan as usual. We get there, take out the guards, get Grey out and flee to the underground city."

We approached the jail casually but something wasn't right. There were no guards.
"Over here," Caden hissed, uncovering two bodies hidden where only a thief would think to look.
"A warning or an amateur?" I wondered.
"Someone's looking for me," Caden whispered, "Someone smart."

Looking over at the spot where he left the bodies Liskano saw the silhoutes of people standing over them. Keeping his sword in his hand, he quietly dropped to the ground and walked over unnoticed. When he got close enough to touch, Liskano said, "You're a very hard man to find Caden."

Caden didn't even stay to find out who the newcomer was. Without a word, he darted out into the streets.

Quickly Liskano was after Caden and before Caden could get very far Liskano was in front of him sword in hand. "I've been looking for you a long time, don't go running from me again or I'll make sure you can't run. No I've come her to warn you of some danger, will you listen or foolishly go on with your life wondering what the dager was that you could've prevent?"
