"Ah, smart girl," Captain Ying compimented. "Yes, I do have a motive. I've lost my navigator and it seems I need a new one. I've heard your skills are remarkable. I'm being being generous, most pirates would've killed you for stealing their gold, but I rather have you alive as a navigator."

"Ah, yes, most pirates have also tried to kill me for it. But i guess i have good luck. Life or job, hmm, i prefer a job." She smiled. "Though you tell those two that if they mess up once i might have to kill em for bein so mean." She hissed at the two men by the door.
Good, I expect to be bringing in plenty of gold. My men will not kill you as long as you bring in plenty of gold and if you plan on any trickery my men will kill you. They will look to find any trickery. They aren't as forgiving as I was about the gold."

"The gold will be as simple as getting to the spots. Have you not forgotten how many stupid ships i've been on." She smiled, "But, I don't know if i should really tell you where they are, sense i could save em for a rainy day." She smiled as Captain Ying frowned.
"You wont have a rainy day if your not careful." He replied smiling a bit.
"Aw, so we under stand each other, we both need the other to get what we want. Now, where are y'all headed?"
"Figures." Alasani muttered, struggling out of the cargo net that was currently keeping a very stubborn grip around her legs. Several minutes later she's just as badly tangled, but upside down and swinging, her head mere centimetres above the bilgewater.
"I board a ship, to get outta the bad rut I was runnin' in, and avoid them penny-ante officers, only t'find out that I'm on one of -their- dratted ships." She grumbles, not too quietly either. A loud thump sounds above her head and she freezes, listening to the upper-class accents until she is reassured that they're not about to check out the cargo.
"Last time I hole up in the dark on a boat, 'specially when I can't read the dratted things name." She continues on her monologue, curling up to fight with the netting again, swinging with the motions of the ship, looking rather like a spider trying to climb back up the thread when the wind keeps on blowing it off target "I din't run off the land t'get meself outta trouble, t'land in their bloody lap! Bloody pirates, they'd be 'alf as decent as this lot, least they's -honest- criminals, not like these red coats, who'd rob y'just as soon as look't you, and claim twas your fine."
A loud rip sounds and Alasani drops into the water with a loud splash, standing dripping she glares at the hatch cover, daring it to open.

Tis better to have the world think you a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
The boy indicated a direction somewhere North and the three other pirates headed off looking pleased with themselves.
"Only pirate ships and traders harbor up there," I noted and was pleased to see the boy jump. He had clearly forgotten I was there. "Don't worry kid. I don't kill children and I've had enough near death experiences of late to be fool enough to take on a ship of trained officers," I smirked before heading for the tavern.
It was ten whole minutes later that I realised the boy was following me. It was a mere annoyance but then, there's a bounty on my head and I'd rather no one knew where I hung out.
"Why are you following me boy?" I asked. He came alongside me and smiled sheepishly.
"I can't return to the ships without the supplies or the money and seenas I have neither now..."
"I see well you can't follow me. The other pirates will kill you as sure as your officer would and I don't want to be seen with a boy in your uniform."
Ok, apologies for my neglect! This seems dead, so it looks like I'm writing on corpses, but whatever. Here goes.

"Wake up."Oisin whispered, in what he seemed to believe was a gentle manner, shaking me roughly by the arm.I opened my eyes slowly, squinting in the sunlight, and got to my feet. "We're setting sail again."
I nodded, thrilled to be on the move. Each movement, I believed, brought me closer to escape.I tightend my hairscarf, ready to work.
"Where's Siofra?" I asked, pulling my telescope from my pouch.
He shrugged. "Bargaining with Anchorless, last time I saw her. Or, trying to, at least."
I frowned, panic soaring into my gut. "And you let her? Get her out, and tell her to get on with her chores!"
Oisin laughed. "Think she'll listen to the likes of me?"
"She'd better, if she doesn't want us killed." I murmered. I paused, gazing out onto the horizon. "How long until we make port?" I asked.
He shrugged. "If the continues like this, six days I reckon. But you know that you can never count on it." He shrugged, before seeming to realise what I had asked, and eyeing me suspiciously. "Why?"
I smiled as sweetly as I could. "No reason." And I breezed off to my lookout post without another word.
Hope that's ok.

Ah, writing on corpses, but is that not what we do best? Lol. As long as there are writers, there will be a story...
Amelia
"How about a boy without uniform?" The lad pulled his shirt over his head and, after a moment's hesitation, cast it to the floor. Admittedly, the trousers could pass for anyone's and the bare shirt suggested a lower class but...
"You're not my responsibility kid. I'm a pirate, you know?"
"I know and I'm not asking for much. A spot on a ship would be nice, that's all."
"Well if I still had a ship... Look. I have to go collecta few of my investments so I'll pay you to carry a few things but then you're gone. Agreed?"
I had been gazing out on the blank horizon for little more than ten minutes when Siofra came banging out of Anchorless' cabin.
I glanced at her, torm between doing my job and finding out what had been said. She did not look happy, but then, I couldn't remember the last time she had. The fact that she wasn't tied up, bruised, cut, or otherwise worse for the wear gave be cause for hope, and made me stay in position.I nodded to her, and gave her a small smile, which I couldn't be sure that she had seen. She nodded back, and swept off down the ship, seizing a mop and bucket from the far end, and quickly beginning to swab the decks with more vigour than was neccessay.
Oisin watched her in amusement. "She's a character, your sister, isn't she?" He called up to me, grinning.
"I don't know what you mean." I replied lightly. "Seems the epitome of obidience to me!"
He laughed. "Same as yourself, then."
I smiled tigtly. Surely he couldn't be onto me? But no. I was being paranoid. "Of course." I called back. "Must run in the family."

Hehe. We do make a good team though =) And my character reminds me of another, I wonder if you can guess which...
Amelia
I stolled down a few dark alleyways with the boy close at my heels and then turned into a dead end. Walking towards the wall, I checked that we were alone before bending and reaching around in the dark. I located the grate easily enough and lifted it out of the way before dropping into the sewer.
"You coming boy?" I called up. A soft thud and a splash of water announced his arrival.
"Wont someone notice the grate has been moved?" He asked.
"It's all taken care of," I replied. "This way." I led him through the sewer and a few minutes later we were climbing a ladder into the basement of an old tavern.
"Here we are. The tavern without a door," I flashed a grin back at the boy before striding towards the bar and demanding two drinks and directions to my safe.
Lol. Another good point.I'm so sorry for my lack of posts everywhere! I'm just being really flighty at the moment. I can't concentrate on anything for more than ten seconds!
Hmm...can I guess? Let's look at the facts...named Amelia, in her twenties, nicknamed Lia, tends to dress like a boy, has a dagger and a couple of pistols, plus a piece of jewelery which she seems to care about enough to hide...would I be wrong in guessing that she has all of these things in common with the character you're thinking of?
Brigid
He laughed. "That it must." His eyes lingered on me as I climbed down from my post, but I ignored it. No use in worrying over trivial things like that.
"Listen, Brigid," he said, as I landed on the deck, "between you and me," he moved closer to me, so I could smell the alcohol and sweat and seasalt off of him, "you'd want to keep a closer eye on her. Don't want her..."
His eyes flickered to the dark ocean. I frowned, seeing that he was smiling.
"I don't see why that should be an issue." I smiled. Anything could be masked with a smile.
He shook his head. "Then you're blind, girl. You know what happens to dead weight."
I shuddered. He grinned, enjoying his power, always a cause for concern. I took his arm. "Oisin, you wouldn't let..."
"I take my orders, girl." He replied, running two fingers down the back of my hand.
I sighed, trying not to flinch at his touch. "Guess I'll need to talk to her then."
He removed his hand, and put it into his pocket. "Ya.Guess you will." He'd turned his back before I could even begin to fantom what had just happend.

Lol! How right you are. I just miss her so much! You can't blame me for transferring her to another story can you?
And don't worry, I think I've neglected our other storybooks too. We'll get there eventually. I'm starting to like Ruby actually. Is that bad?
Amelia
"Shut up," I snarled as I strode after the bar man. The boy hurried along behind me and we passed through many bolted doors and long hallways before we reached a small room. There were no windows and a single safe filled almost half of the space.
"That's yours," The pirate declared after a moment's silence.
"I'd like to open it in private," I replied. He shrugged and grinned, flashing two gold teeth in my direction.
"Suit yourself miss Lia," And with another shrug he left us alone. I inserted the key into the padlock and undid that first. Then I turned the dial until I'd inserted my whole combination and the door swung open. Inside there were nine seperate safes, each with a different combination and I opened the first three which contained gold, jewels and some paper bonds. I selected a small handful of the gold, one or two pieces of jewelery and three of the paper bonds.
