Camp NovMo July 2025: Heirs of Eleas

My goal for this July is to write/plan for 30 minutes a day for at least 10 days.

I also want to figure out if this is going to be just a single POV story or if I will have both of my main characters’ POV. I still don’t know which is better for me.

Since last Camp NovMo, I have done some outlining using the Save the Cat! format and while it’s not completely solid, I’m hoping it helps me to keep some structure as I write. Having some guidelines tends to help me.

For those of you who may be stopping by in this thread and have a thread of your own, sorry if I don't send you any encouraging messages! This month is going to be pretty rough for me so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do even for my own writing.

Day 1/10 complete. I wrote today, and my word count was 255.

It'll be interesting to see if you're typing speed increases throughout!

I doubt it, @Snoink! I can type pretty fast in general, but I usually have low word counts per day because I think of the words to write very slowly. It would be nice if I could get my creative juices flowing at a faster speed.




2/10, 243 words.

Wow this is such a cool idea! I really like that goal as it promotes consistency.

(also i relate so much lol. I can type pretty fast, but I constantly stop, backtrack, search up thesaurus for better words, and erase that sentence for the fourth time because it sounded "too cliche".)

3/10, 572. I actually had some inspiration today and ended up writing a lot within about 45 minutes. I'm kind of impressed with myself, lol.

4/10, 491 words. Wrote for about 45 minutes. Maybe my word counts are going up after all.

5/10, 293 words

6/10, 320 words
