2025 NAPO BUDDIES
National Poetry Month is just around the corner! It goes by quickly! Whether you're a seasoned NaPo pro or this is your first time jumping into the poetic pasture (see what I did there?), be sure to take a look at the Information Thread to get the lay of the land. We're thrilled to have you along for the ride!
For many years, one of the YWS traditions in April was the NaPo Buddies program. It's back again this year! If you sign up for NaPo Buddies, you'll be encouraged to comment in your assigned buddy’s NaPo thread throughout April. Encouragement can come in many forms: replying to poems, leaving wall comments, sharing favorite lines, trading prompts, or even writing a poem together. However you want to show support is up to you! And of course, you’re not limited to just your buddy’s thread.
I'll be posting weekly reminders in this thread with a motivational meme or little nudge to cheer each other on, but don’t worry, this isn’t a contest or anything too formal. Just good vibes and great poems.
If you’d like to be paired with a NaPo Buddy, please comment below and subscribe to this thread before April 1st. Pairings will be posted on April 2nd! You can also drop any questions or concerns here. Depending on how many people sign up, you may be paired with 1 or 2 buddies. Even if you have to step away from NaPo for any reason, we encourage you to still check in with your buddy when you can!
