I’m going to work on my story, Heirs of Eleas for this Camp. A rough summary of where I want to go with the story:

A fantasy story set amidst a war-torn, conquered kingdom about two sisters, princesses of the conquered kingdom, who are separated and experience very different things in the years of the aftermath of their land’s downfall, and they must find the strength to stand up and fight to reclaim their homeland. Themes: sisterhood, grief, right vs wrong, and reconciliation.

My loose goal is to write for at least 30 minutes 4x/week. I will be keeping track of my word count but as long as I write for the set amount of time I’m satisfied.
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:7

I love a time goal over a word count goal!! A+ themes and it sounds like a cool world!! I wish you lots of good writing time this month :) :)

I'm already so invested in this story and I only know three sentences so consider me hooked. I am HERE for this (sits down for updates)

Linking my Camp of this story from 2022 (lol) because the background set up I did back then still stands:

I did some reflection about both Elithia and Annora’s motivations for going along with the events that happen in the story, and I found that neither of them actually care about their people on a personal level, at least. :’)

Annora resents the people and blame them for the king and queen’s death, while Elithia felt pressured by the responsibility of being the eldest/heir and mainly wanted to live quietly without having to face the weight of ruling (plus the people used to adore Annora in the past and didn’t care much for her). So while E does know some personally and live among the people, her care for them as a whole is probably as much as just a regular person in a society living her own life.

@Carlito yep I picked time over word count because I think that is more achievable for me when I don’t always know when I will get an opportunity to write rather than a specific number (and I like being able to succeed at my goals haha) :)

@soundofmind Hopefully I’ll have something good to show :)

@Spearmint thanks! I like their names too!

A question for anyone, when you read “Elithia” how do you pronounce it in your head?

Since there are 30 days in April, I will expect to write at least 16 times this month (since that's about 4x/week in 4 weeks).

I wrote for longer than 30 minutes today for a word count of 716. (1/16)

Thank you Mint and Carlito for your responses! I'm not totally solid with my own pronunciation of Elithia yet, but I think what I'm imagining is somewhere in between both of you.

I wrote today and I’m not sure of my word count since it was handwritten but I’ll transcribe it later. (3/16)

Word count: 156

4/16 done with a word count of 233. I also did some name revisions (random name generators and smushing some different name elements together is great for this :P).
