"I think you'll do fine out there. It just takes some learning." Path sounded tired as he usually did. He grew quiet again as they travelled. A part of him hated to see these young bots exposed to war so early. They didn't ask for this.

Reverse was also quiet, and didn't mind it.

Helixon slowly zig zagged above Tarmac.

The Nova Station eventually came into view. A couple of Autobot flyers zipped overhead and radioed down.

"Identify yourselves!"

Tarmac opened his communication line. "This is Sergeant Tarmac and my squad. We're here on Captain Ironhide's orders."

"You're clear to enter the base!" The flyers shot away back to the station. Blueshade tried to keep up with them but couldn't quite.

Helixon used them for target practice, but didn't open fire on them. He didn't fly off with them either, although he probably knew who they were.

They pulled into the base and transformed. Tarmac shook of the dust of the road and stood in front of the squad as they walked inside.

"Single file, boys. The boss of this station is-"

"Sergeant Tarmac, you're late." An Autobot with a white color scheme and grey accents appeared from the bay doors. He had several red accents and two red horns above his faceplate. His expression was cold.

"Our transport was shot down and we were stuck overnight on the plains." Tarmac saluted, and then lowered his hand without waiting for "at ease".

Path sighed and released Reverse, kneeling so he could transform onto the ground without leaping from his full height. "Keep it quite kid, Prowl doesn't like...well, anything."

Reverse landed gracefully, having done it since he came online pretty much. He nodded in acknowledgement to Path and looked forward.

Helixon stood just a little bit out of line, leaning on one foot looking bored. It would annoy Prowl, who was infamous for being wound tight. Altrock was mostly in line, except for being on the ceiling.

"Next time have your comms officer send a message notifying us." Prowl replied shortly.

"Apologies. We've got a new one. He doesn't quite know the ropes yet." Tarmac sounded irritated when he spoke of Reverse. "I'm sure Ironhide briefed you on our objective. We'll be moving out when it gets dark." Tarmac was taller than Prowl. He'd dealt with the bot before a few times, but he preferred working under Ironhide. Ironhide at least had an appreciation for improvised tactics.

"Well you better show him how to manage them quickly," Prowl's optics landed on the small bot for a second before looking back to Tarmac. "And I am well aware, Sargent Tarmac. If you would like I have come up with a plan that would work-"

"We've already got our own plan that will work just fine." Helixon interrupted.

"Stand down, soldier." Tarmac turned to Helixon and reprimanded him, but gave him a grateful look when Prowl couldn't see his face. Tarmac was a rule follower- when it suited him. Prowl stepping on their servos was irritating.

"We do have a plan in mind designed for our team." It would need some editing since the plan had been made when they still had a normal sized comms officer. But that shouldn't be hard. Reverse would just do his job from a distance and stay with Path.

Helixon leaned to the other side to look more in line, but still with a foot sticking out.

The corner of Prowl's mouth twitched in disappointment. He tried. It would be noted that if anything were to go wrong he'd make sure it was known he offered a plan he knew would indeed work flawlessly. "Very well. I expect you know where to go?"

"We're going to refuel then head out at dusk. We'll be in bay seven if you need us, Sir." Tarmac said. As funny as it was, it wasn't a good idea to irritate Prowl. He wasn't the forgive and forget kind of Autobot.

"I'll get the boys settled down." Path said, stepping forward. He met eyes with Prowl. "Sir." Path hadn't seen Prowl for a long time. They'd known each other when Path was younger, before he joined with Tarmac and the squad. Prowl hadn't thought highly of him then, and he didn't know.

Luckily for Path, he didn't let himself care too much about what other people thought of him.

Prowl nodded to Tarmac. "You're dismissed."

Prowl looked at Path as he approached, calculating. He noted the newly repaired shoulder. "Path."

"Prowl." He said with flat acknowledgment, nothing else. He had no intention of catching up.

Tarmac turned to gather his squad. Blueshade was the only one acting proper. "Get you and your things to bay seven. All of you."

"Still alive, I see." Prowl looked down at a datapad.

Altrock and Helixon muttered to each other about Prowl, agreeing on the part they didn't like him, but argued about anything else possible such as in what way he was horrible.

Reverse looked to Path, then followed the rest of the team.

"For now." He turned to follow his squad. He felt a little anger boiling in his spark, which was unusual for him. He'd come a long way since his days as a young autobot. He'd become more capable than most.

"Will you two give us a minute of peace for once?" Tarmac growled st them, knowing his request would be futile
