Reverse's optics widened behind his visor. Him- sparring? How much damage would he even be able to apply? A tiny scratch on a paint job?

"I'm smaller than a lot of bot but he taught me how to take down the big ones. He's a real good fighter. Tarmac is too."

Path smiled a little watching the two talk. Time wore on. The hours ticked by. The time for the mission was soon. He watched the crew preparing. Blue was getting a little antsy as he always did. Path was curious to see how Reverse handled it all.

"Alright let's go. I'm bored and I'm in the mood to tear some cons apart." Helixon returned to the bay.

Reverse was his usual quiet.

"We're moving out." Tarmac stood up. "We're sticking to the usual plan for this one. Path is going to take Reverse and Blueshade and circle to the south entrance of the base. Reverse should subvert their their comms as we approach. That will keep our comms online but indetectable. We'll be in and out before they know what hit them. Our objective is a vital piece of technology they've got located in the vault beneath the base." He pulled up the schematics of the base again. "Altrock and I are moving in first, he'll get us through the gate and deactivate the shields. Helixon is going to cover us from overhead. Path will take out the guards at the south gate. That's our way out. Blueshade is backup and will keep our escape route clear."

"But-" Blueshade started.

"Those are orders. Any questions that aren't stupid?"

Helixon raised his hand. "Yeah. What do you consider to be stupid questions?"

"Let's move." Tarmac turned and opened the doors to their small area and led them out. Path took up the rear as usual, while Blueshade floated around somewhere in the middle, constantly moving.

Helixon took the exact middle holding guns in both hands freely, with Altrock in front of him and Reverse behind him.

Tarmac led them out of the base without finding Prowl first. He had no intention of allowing him to meddle in their mission. Prowl was by the books, and this squad was anything but. That's what made them so good at their job. They were unpredictable and creative.

The desktop commanders never like that.

Helixon gave looks to intentionally intimidate bots as they approached and passed. He, like Tarmac and pretty much everyone else on the team, had no care for those working behind the lines, especially at desks.

Once outside the base they transformed. Path knelt so Reverse could transform into one of his smaller compartments, and then shifted into his own vehicle mode. His long sniper rifle was mounted on his side in a way that it was still useable even in his alt mode.

Helixon took to the air, glad to be out of the base.

The drive to the base was quiet. Once they were close enough, Tarmac ordered Reverse to start subverting their communications so the con's wouldn't pick up their signals.

The terrain became darker and more mangled as they got closer to the base. They travelled with their lights off, which made visibility difficult. Path and Blueshade broke from the group and headed to the south gate of the small base. The place seemed quiet, and Path didn't like it. When he reached a spot he deemed fit he transformed quietly and took his rifle, resting it on a boulder and using his powerful scope to get a visual on the outside of the base.

"Can you keep working in alt mode, Reverse?" Path said quietly.

Reverse worked on subverting their comms. "Yes."

Helixon flew higher to get a better view, while Altrock stuck with Tarmac
