Fading Starlight

"Good. Stay where you are for now till I get a better idea of what we're dealin' with. Blueshade, move on down a little closer to the gate, don't be seen. Stay under that rock outcropping till my signal."

"On it." Blueshade zipped away, nimbly making his way down the ledge to his hiding place.

Tarmac reached their entry point. There was a small entry gate separate to the main gate that led into the maintenance section of the base. There were two guards outside. Sneaking up, he nodded to Altrock and jumped the guards, who's comms were being jammed.

Reverse remained in Path's compartment, just doing his job.

Altrock dealt with his guard without firing his weapons, he just gave him a good whack then a crunch and he'd dispatched the con. He looked over to Tarmac to see how his progress was.

"You still got those codes?" Tarmac held his blasters ready in case any more cons showed up. "Get us through this door."

"Well do you want it stealthily or let them all come at us?" Altrock asked, inspecting the keypad.

"Stealthy at first. We're gonna have to blast our way out. If we can get to the equipment without alerting anyone that'd be ideal." He looked up to see where Helixon was.

"Fine." Altrock punched in the code and the doors slid open. "Bosses first."

Helixon was high in the sky, above where normal fliers would fly.

Tarmac chuckled. "So I get shot first. Got it. Should make your large aft go in first, they'd think three bots were coming at them." He let the way into the base. "We're in." He said quietly over the comms. "Altrock and I are heading for the vault."

"Cool. Altrock knows how to let me know if you bots need help." Helixon replied.

Reverse kept up his work.

"Path, you and that comms officer make sure we've got signal and the cons don't." He sounded a little irritated when mentioning Reverse, though it wasn't as audible as before.

They made their way inside, carefully using their scanners to choose the unoccupied halls. Much to Tarmac's surprise, they made it to the vault without detection.

"Altrock, can you get this open?" Tarmac didn't like how quiet the base was. Something was off, but he couldn't tell what. "What's it look like out there Helixon? I don't like how quiet it is..."

Reverse didn't respond, he just continued to do his job.

"Yeah. Explosions or codes?" Altrock asked.

A few seconds later Helixon responded. "Absolutely nothing. You know that's kind of disturbing?"

"I've got a bad feeling about this." He raised his face shield. "Altrock, blow this thing wide open. If they're waiting for us in there, they'll get shrapnel in the faceplate. If they're planning something, let's bring the fight to us. Helix! Start blowing stuff up on the north end of the base. That'll startle em."

"Cool, cool." Altrock brought out some of his explosives and stuck them to the door.

"Good, finally some action." Helixon replied.

"Light em up boys." Tarmac stepped back, letting Altrock do his work.

"Here we go." Path lowered his rifle, waiting. He'd cover the bots when they came out, but would wait till then. "Steady Blueshade."

Altrock blew the door up with a grin, and simultaneously Helixon dropped his explosives.

Alarms went off. Tarmac entered the vault with his blasters ready. There were several panels locking up different pieces of valuable equipment. He began to search through them.

"Altrock, scan this room. This base is supposed to be on top of an energon well, find out quickly if it's still viable!" In the meantime, he was searching for a certain specific transmitter. It was vital to restoring the power to the main autobot base back near Iacon.
