Myriad Reckonings

I'm so ready. I keep trying to balance portraying Tarkin as somewhat sympathetic while still also having him be as completely and truly evil as he is canonically. It's tricky ro have both.

gonna be some cool stuff. I love that Thalassa is here. Sirejj would go to Tarkin like "Can I work for her instead"

perhaps Vader will play a part later otherwise Sirejj and his conflict sorta becomes an unfulfilled Chekhov's gun. Sirejj will need to face his fear at some point.

Honestly the nightsisters are incredibly good at illusions and messing with someone's mind. They have this association with ghosts and death and reanimating them to some degree. Sirejj could do a lot of damage to Vader if he could somehow avoid getting within lightsaber length of him. That trickery alone would infuriate Vader to the point of going absolute apeshite though so he'd have to be real confident to try that. that would not be for some time.

That's genius actually. Vader has already had issues with the hallucinations thanks to Saro, so that would drive him batty.
And I think because of the route Tarkin will likely take once he finds out what happened, Vader will definitely become a very real threat for them both.

Sirejj is going to have to really step up his game.

Maybe he will have to go to Dathomir for some training. If that happens there's honestly a chance they could bump into a certain revenge-fueled dual saber wielding half-crazy old dude who just so happens to hate the Sith arguably more than anyone else. now that would be something else.

Sirejj's staff gets destroyed. He's almost killed or something and realizes he needs some serious help. Goes to Dathomir. Finds said crazy old dude and somehow fools him long enough to learn the dark arts of building a super cool nightsister lightsaber thing and learn from the ruins of the nightsisters enough power to make him an actual threat.

Maul's problem is that he's just as mentally messed up as everyone else and that means he'll never be able to rise above the Emperor's control. His mind is too far eaten up with rage and terror that he can't quite push past it far enough to find the answers he's looking for. That's what Sirejj doesn't want to become. All Sith have their minds twisted and destroyed to some degree. He's not about that.

Listen their interactions are gonna be pretty great. it will further support my hypothesis however that Sirejj is the most mentally stable one in this RP aside from maybe Thalassa.

Maul being a walking basket case will make him interesting to deal with. That and there's some respect between Nightbrothers I'd imagine. But Maul knows what he wants. He wouldn't be too keen on Sirejj being more interested in the nightsister magick than what he has to offer.

Maul is another grudgeholding king. Sirejj sure knows how to pick em.

It will be fascinating to see how Dathomir fits in. I want to see everything go crazy and fall to pieces.

And the Rebellion isn't even established yet!

he's gonna start wondering what got him stuck with all these emotionally messed up crazy people.

Dathomir was destroyed before the days of the empire probably because Sidious knew exactly what could happen if the nightsisters rallied against him. He knew Talzin. He knew the legends. He knew their knowledge predated the Sith and Jedi. That's why he needed them wiped out.

I don't think Sirejj realizes yet how big of a threat he could actually be.

If and when he figures it out, I desperately hope that leads to a showdown between him and Vader and/or Sidious.

Think for how cool that would be

bruhhhhh that would be so epic. I don't think he could 2v1 but I think he could take Vader once he's reached his potential. if hallucinations made the guy want to bring a building down on his head then he can't be so hard to beat as long as you don't get close enough to get force choked, force yeeted, or stabbed. Vader would be a great enemy since we can use our time with him here to build up that terror. Sidious is not off the table though. He'd be powerful enough to play some mind games that might really push Sirejj to make the choice of running and hiding or turning against him. Sidious is all about the control of the mind and he'd definitely try it if he comes to know of sirejj.

If this whole Tarkin turning against the empire happens they certainly have a lot of resources outside due to Thalassa's connections. I want to see some of Sirejj working for/with her too. If we are playing with the history a bit also, will Thalassa and Tarkin continue to be all cold and sad with each other or will they perhaps draw closer?

I highly recommend reading the comic where Tarkin hunts Vader for sport as part of a wager.

I think Tarkin and Thalassa would continue to be kind of cold to each other. Maybe a tiny bit closer than before, but they've got way more going on besides a dead son.
Legends Thalassa appeared in one whole comic and was incredibly lame and poorly written. The one in this rp is essentially an oc at this point.

Over time they might manage to put aside their differences but I don't think they'll ever be a proper healthy couple. The wedge is too big.

It would be interesting if the Treacle becomes a sort of faction that ends up helping the Rebellion in some way. Like Tarkin and Thalassa wouldn't necessarily support the Rebellion, but they might team up every now and then when it seems like a good idea.

I read the wookiepedia recap of the comic so I know what happened but not the comic itself lol. That shines a light on how cunning and terrifyingly smart Tarkin actually is. He would be a major target if he opposed the empire. But also, can we talk about slugthrowers for a second? who knew regular bullets against lightsabers would work so well. The Mandalorians used them against the Jedi because bullet+lightsaber=molten shrapnel.

The Treacle being it's own super cool faction thing is epic.

Just for funzies we need a scene where someone comes in to challenge the Lady Thalassa herself, head of the Treacle, and then Sirejj just stalks out of some dark corner with green smoke for dramatic effect and gets to just hand their rear ends to them in a fight. And then places his saber back on his belt, steps over the bodies, and bows.

But then Tarkin gets jumped and Sirejj is just like "eh he's fine he can handle it".

See that's why I love slugthrowers!!! I think it's Tarkin's favored ranged weapon; they're just so much fun. Whoever thought that star wars needs regular guns was a genius.

I buy fully into the dynamic you're setting up for Thalassa, Sirejj, and Tarkin. Excellent stuff, I love it.
