Sirejj to Raia: I understand why you don't get along with your sister now
His temper flaring for a moment, he entered the room. It was a simple thing. There was no reason he shouldn't be able to accomplish it. "Any suggestions?"

Kurra kinda sucks but not because she's a bad teacher, I don't think
"Complete the final step," Kurra said with a bit of rare humor. "Think of dipping your hand in ink and pressing it to the ground, then pulling it away little by little. The handprint is clearer when you take your time. It stays longer once it is dry, as well. Let it dry before you leave."

she's a fair enough teacher, her pupil is just not particularly patient. But we know how Sirejj takes orders and that is with a grain of salt. Even Thalassa he would test sometimes and he respects her
Following her direction he attempted again, this time remaining longer focusing leaving a part of himself behind. After a moment he again stood up and left the room, testing at a second time.

Kurra spent a moment testing the space like before, then nodded. "Excellent. You've left your imprint here, Sirejj. Now come and I'll show you how to erase it."

Sirejj returned, staff in hand. This entire time he's been holding his staff and using it as a way to connect with the planet beneath him. He walked over to Kurra, glad to have succeeded at something today.

"Shall we practice some of the things you already learned and then move on to more new techniques?" she asked.

if you wanna put him at odds with Kurra or anyone have them take his staff fyi. there might not be space for it but just putting it out there. it'd def make him mad
He nodded, and they began.
Sirejj's training continued for much of the day. Kurra was relentless. Sirejj had a few times where he took a short break, but the training was taxing on both mind and body. While he learned much, the questions in the back of his mind still lingered. He would have to ask them at a later time, and be careful how he did so.
Solving mysteries would be a welcome break from his studies.

I can't see them trying to take it from him but you know who WOULD take it?? Tarkin >:)
At last Kurra let him rest. "We'll stop for lunch, now," she said. "You've made some progress. Go to the same spot Raia showed you before to eat; the fungus grows back swiftly."

sirejj is already watching out for that bc he knows Tarkin would like to add it to his little collection and Sirejj will fight him for it. he'd be mAD.
not that this will happen (kinda already did in the beginning with the inquisitors) but if Sirejj was ever captured/otherwise contained and Tarkin took his staff and flaunted it like you know he would Sirejj might have to beat the daylights out of him when he gets loose.
Sirejj nodded. "Thank you." He turned and left. He shut out the training from his mind when he left the room, allowing himself some rest. He followed a memorized path through a few tunnels in search of the place Raia showed him. He wondered if she'd be there.

I can see Tarkin being petty enough to mess around with it if Sirejj leaves it unattended the next time they meet up
Raia was indeed there, salvaging a little of the fungus growing on the stones to eat. It was a surprisingly filling meal, though nutritionally it wasn't much more than a single slice of bread. Enough to subsist off of, but not enough to be comfortable.

Thalassa is going to have one heck of a time keeping them from killing each other. She's the only responsible adult when it comes to these two
Sirejj made sure to walk a little louder as he entered the room. He was a natural stalker, slinking around in the shadows unseen and unheard. But his intention was not to startle Raia. He may end up with a lance in his chest if he did that.

Raia didn't acknowledge him other than to give a small nod, closing up her little lunch bag. She preferred to eat in private, though it was difficult now that she was babysitting Sirejj. "Finish your training?" she asked as she stepped aside to let him pass.

He had no idea what she said, but he knew it was a question. "I've been released from your sister from the time being." He investigated their food source. Though he could survive on such things for a short time, he was a carnivore. This fungus looked terrible, but his own rations wouldn't last for too much longer.

"You should probably eat with the others," she advised, though she knew it was useless. "Kurra will want to discuss your progress with Mother." She smiled wryly. "Maybe I'll even come along and listen."

He felt her tone become a little taunting and frowned slightly. "You're a firey one." He moved over and sat down on the ground where some of the fungus grew. He'd think about trying it, but he was going to rest for a moment. He took his staff and carefully laid it on the ground in front of him.
