Uhh… I don’t know if I’m putting this in the right place or not, but I had this discussion with friends irl and I wanted you ask you guys!

If you were in a movie/show/book, what kind of character would you be? Now, I don’t mean “if you played in a pre-existing movie, what character would you play?” Or “if you could be any fictional character, what would you be?”

What I mean is “if a whole new show was being made, and you were magically transported into the world of the show, what type of character would you be?”

Lemme go first: I would be the goofy side/background character that everyone loves. I’m talking scrunkly-scrimblo levels of goofy. And then maybe at some point I’ll become important to the plot and get lore and stuff.

So, tell me, YWS, what kind of character would you be?

Ooh this is a fun question! Hmm just off the top of my head, I might be the mysterious guide/ mentor figure that brings the protagonist into the world of the story.

The one in the horror movie that goes to investigate the noise with a flashlight and a ball bat wrapped in barb wire. C:

that one gal with slightly dark humor and a collection of Stranger Things shirts who would probably be one of the protagonist’s friends/acquaintances who talks nonstop about her obsessions.
i really wanna go into like…detail, but i won’t :)
silliness is my specialty. :)

im the obviously autistic-coded side character/main character's 3rd best friend that gets a funny end credits scene

Hm... I guess I can be that introvert character who secretly understands people but doesn't tell them anything and cracks jokes which no one understands

Oh, I love this question. A while ago in a group chat on a similar topic, I determined that I'd be a character who wanders the streets wearing dark cloaks with hidden daggers (mostly just to feel cool). Has no magical abilities. Is probably cursed or thought to be so because of having no friends. Pokes around in old ruins. Writes cryptic poetic nonsense by candlelight, then throws it in the fire. Hangs out with dragons. Never sleeps.

That's who I'd be in a fantasy genre, anyway. Maybe I'll think about who I'd be in a more realistic genre and post that later lol :)

Maybe big bird

Or just a stray pigeon that's not really supposed to be in the scene but adds a certain ambience.

I'd be the one who is always distracted, and, like, they're falling off a cliff, and I would be like, getting out a book. I would also jump a lot.

We should, like, collaborate on a television show, where these are our personalities.

For in everything it is no easy task to find the middle ... anyone can get angry—that is easy—or give or spend money; but to do this to the right person, to the right extent, at the right time, with the right motive, and in the right way, that is not for everyone, nor is it easy; wherefore goodness is both rare and laudable and noble.
