“Alright.” But she wasn’t doing either of those things. She was just ignoring him. She walked over to Tomhas’s bed again, aware Sera was probably going to follow her, and yet hoping she’d just go away. She rested her hand on Tomhas’s forehead and then brushed his scraggly hair out of his face. Perhaps if they shaved him that would help cool him off? It’s not like the beard was supposed to be there anyway, outside of his depression.

Sera watched but didn't follow yet.

Sera snid ac {followed} n¯ænig pro.

“…Would he be cooler if we got rid of the beard?” She stroked his hair back again.

"The beard insulateth little," she replied. "Being short enough."

“Mm.” She turned towards a nearby basin of water with a cloth still in it and pulled it out, squeezing out the excess water and laying it on Tomhas’s forehead.

Tomhas whimpered again, verily.
"Tend ye carefully to him, for he be fragile," Sera admonished her (verily).

“I am,” she muttered, stroking his hair down again.

Sera steppeth acrosseth the floor and joineth Ky by her side. She squeezeth a second cloth and presseth it to Tomhas's dewy brow.

Ky shuffled out of the way, glad Sera was finally doing her job. She took a step backward and sat on one of the cots, staring at Tomhas in concern even as a wave of exhaustion washed over her. She’d apparently spent all her energy reserves.

"Rest thyself," Sera advised. "Thou art weary and melancholic; I cannot have ye taking ill and casting off thy mortal coil; thy father would soon follow yet were he to awaken one daughter poorer."

Ky glared at her. “I’m fine.” She clearly wasn’t. She took a deep breath and hefted herself up, then shuffled over to the bed she’d awoken in and sat down again heavily. She was exhausted.

"Lie not to me; I see thy face."

She snorted but didn’t argue. She didn’t have the energy. She leaned back against the headboard and crawled under the covers again.

"Needeth thou any thing? A cup of tea or a cold compress?"

Ky shook her head, not wanting to take Sera’s attention off Tomhas for even a moment.
