Pining: Immortal and Multiverse Edition

Time blinked. “You’re dead.”

That wasn’t very strange to them. Time monitored all sorts of not-so-dead dead things all of the time. The problem was that Time always knew that’s exactly what they were. It was a part of the job description. Whatever Susie was, dead was not her only problem.

"Sort of."

“Well, sort of is my domain so, trust me, I know the type.”

"Ohh..g..goo.good."

Time nodded. “Walk with us for a moment?”

Susie didn't know what to say to that. What where they trying to do? Well she was probably not going to find out by doing nothing or trying to run away.

"S..sure."

Death smiled and held out an arm. Because Death was always kind like that. Time looked away, face heating up considerably.

Susie automatically took the offered arm. Something about this being made Susan want to trust this gesture.

Death grinned, always incredibly happy whenever a mortal treated Death with kindness instead of rampant fear. Time followed behind them, waiting for Death to phase through a pocket dimension.

It didn’t take very long until none of them were in the park anymore. Death had created a very soft living room, with a comfortable sofa, and a loveseat for Time. A fire crackled merrily in the fireplace.

Susie let out a small gasp when she appeared in the new area. So...these two were like...oh...Susie had not expected to attract attention from quite that high up.

Death ushered the girl to the sofa, that grin never leaving, while Time took the loveseat.

“So. Let’s cut to the chase, shall we?”

Susie sank into the sofa. Oh that was comfortable. Very comfortable. "Uh..umm.."

Time sighed. “Look, here‘s the deal. I know absolutely everything about everyone on this planet. One would call me omnipotent. However, the only thing I know about you is your name.”

"Ohh...it...it..can..it can be lik..like that. Sometimes."

“No. It can’t be. So, what are you and how did you get here?”
