Nicholas gave Uther the treat and turned, offering Meyer his hand to shake as well. He wasn't overly pleased about having this pair over for dinner, especially considering he couldn't remember much of what was talked about on the drive here with Sadie. He offered a nod anyway. "Welcome, welcome." Uther made for Sadie immediately, still barking but visibly restraining himself from jumping.

"Sure." She made to head into the kitchen, but Nicholas moved ahead of her and disappeared inside. She turned back to them. "Right, well, let me show you the living room. Sadie, you're a teacher, right? Meyer, what is it you do?"

“Personal assistant,” Meyer said, following her with Sadie in tow. “Kind of. Bit of a unique position but I run errands and deliver messages for a businessman. Bit of a boring job, really, but it pays well.”
Well that just wasn’t true at all. Meyer wouldn’t really talk about the details of his day when he came home but from the number of times he came home bruised or bloodied she knew ‘boring’ wasn’t remotely close to whatever it was that he did. Still, she knew better than to say that. Let him let on however he wanted.
