Even if it was going to be hella awkward to have to deal with the Reverend for an entire meal; especially if the old coot was drunk again. But he could tell Sadie wanted to do this, so he was going to do it. With as good of an attitude as he could muster.

Sadie and Meyer pulled up at 6:28 and Sadie got out eagerly, hoping Uther was around. Meyer chuckled at her enthusiasm -- he had, of course, gotten a thorough rundown about Uther and knew exactly who she was looking for when she sprang out of the car.

Mighty barking came from inside the cabin, followed by a chorus of "Uther down!" The door opened and Mary stepped outside. Behind her, Nicholas had his back to them with a dog treat held between his fingers. Uther was sitting attentively, tapping his paws impatiently as he waited to be released so he could greet the guests.
