He blinked for a moment, stared between Ky and Sera and Myna, then shook his head. "That's really cool and I'd love to ask you more questions about that later, but I don't appreciate you upsetting my daughter, no matter what you think is wrong."
"Your daughter is seeing things she shouldn't be seeing," Myna replied. Tomhas paled.

Ky shrank a little further. Now he understood. Thank gods. Let him navigate it.

"She won't say what."
"Yeah." He nodded, wrapping his arms around himself in discomfort. "Yeah, she wouldn't want to."
"What is it?" Sera asked. "You know?"
"We shouldn't talk about this here," he said quietly. "Sorry. Look, can we talk in the tavern or somewhere quiet?"
"If you wish." Myna dipped her head.

Oh. So she was too young to hang out in the tavern for fun. But it was totally fair to drag her into the tavern to get interrogated by a scary woman about ghosts. Great. She looked between them all uncertainly, being very still and very quiet. So much for Tomhas being on her side.

"Sera, I'll fill you in later, but could you take Ky somewhere for now? Ky, is that okay?"

Ky blinked at him. Somehow that felt worse. “…okay.”

"Okay." He gave her a quick hug. "I'll fill you in later, both of you. I'm sorry about this."

Ky gave a helpless half-hearted returned hug with a nod. Before she let go she whispered. “You’re really gonna…?”

"It's fine," he said quietly. "She's weird and creepy but I know why now. We can trust her."

"Go buy some cool stuff in the meantime." He gave her shoulder a pat, then turned to Myna, still looking deeply unsettled. "Okay, let's go. I'll buy."
She dipped her head and looked toward Ky. "I'll have something for you once Lord Loquitur explains."

Ky looked at her fearfully. “…y-ou w…ill?”

A hex? Punishment? Banishment?

"A ward or trinket, most likely. Clear your head a bit hopefully, or at least keep unwanted visitors off you."

“…oh…” she should stop thinking so badly of the lady… maybe. They’d see what came of her talk with Tomhas. “… thank you?”
