Tomhas headed toward the tavern. Myna left her horse and cart, following after him in long strides. Sera watched them go, lips pressed into a tight line.

Ky watched them go, then glanced at Sera, then buried her hands in her pockets and glanced away. Her face and neck felt warm and flushed.

Ky glanced at her, then away again. She didn’t know. She felt so unsettled. And yet also oddly numb. Like she wasn’t sure what she was supposed to be feeling. Embarrassment? Relief that they’d gone? Worry that the woman was still with her father? Chagrin that she’d been called on her lie? Anxiety that now Sera must certainly know Ky was a bad omen? Somehow, she felt all of them at once. But she simply nodded. “…yes.”

"You're sure?" She tried to make eye contact with her, then sighed. "I won't pry if you don't want me to. I'm sure Tomhas will explain everything. I just hope Myna does have something to help with whatever is going on."

"I'm here pretty much every week to pick up supplies, and she's here every couple months or so. We've exchanged healing tips in the past." She started toward Thurlesson's. "There've been rumors going around for decades about her ancestry--she's an odd-looking one, to be sure, and her manner's a bit off-putting. But I thought that was all."

"Perfectly." Sera kept walking. "She's half wood-troll, that's all." She paused. "Well, that's actually pretty big. Bigger than I'm making it out to be. Very big. But wood -trolls in general aren't nearly as dangerous as stone-trolls. She's got the sight trolls have too, which is why she was concerned about you."
