Ky was already blushing, and it got even darker as the man laughed at her. She glanced at him, then forced herself to focus on Bay instead. She took a deep breath and nodded. She'd learned from Ka'Nor to learn from her mistakes, but not to fixate on them. She had to take the mental space back from her embarrassment to have enough focus to be in the moment.
She shifted her weight again so that she was on the balls of her feet and raised her sword, nodding as she got set.

It took her slightly off guard, but she was focused enough she was able to correct herself in time. She quickly stepped to the side and swatted his blade away with her own.

"Oh." Well, that wasn't helpful. At least not at this very moment. She decided to try another strike, making sure her feet were planted firmly enough for it to be a pretty decent blow considering her skill level, even though she knew it'd be easy to block.

Her back foot inched backward slightly as she shifted her weight off her front foot to it, but her stance was broad enough to be solid. Still, a moment later she quickly darted to the side, deciding to try another blow at his side. This one was far too hasty and in bad form and wouldn't have done much even if he didn't move at all.

He moved swiftly, at the proper pace now rather than at practice speed, and stepped out of the way to let her momentum carry her.

It carried her all the way over, and she toppled to the ground, landing on her knees and her knuckles heavily. She blushed and popped back up to her feet half a moment later, whirling around so that she'd be facing him again. She felt a little winded now from the surprise and her knuckles smarted. She figured she'd probably skinned them, but she didn't look down to check whether they were bleeding or not. Oops.
