(Sure that works! She’s going to have doubled down on not leaving her room probably… do we want a Sara/Ky scene? Or nah?)

(We can do that or we could have Tomhas come check on her)

(No preference! Have one of your guys show up at her door and I’ll be as surprised as she is xD)

The next day just before breakfast, Sara knocked on Ky's door.

Ky had barely slept. She was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday and pacing an ‘L’ in her room — window to door, door to hearth, back again. She’d made the trek thousands of times by now. Her feet were sore and body was tense and she flinched at the knock.
Michael?
“…who is it?” She turned towards the door but didn’t approach it.

"It's Sara," she replied. "Is it alright if I come in?"

Ky let out a little breath and nodded, then realized she couldn’t see her. And also that she wouldn’t be able to come through the locked door. She briskly strode towards the door and pulled it open, looking past Sara despite herself to be sure they were alone.

There was nobody around but Sara. She gave a small smile. "Hello. How are you today?"

“Good.” She forced a small, tense smile as she finally looked at Sara. “You?”

"I'm well." She dipped her head. "Are you joining us for breakfast?"

"Um." She winced, glancing over Sara's shoulder again. "...I guess I said that I would..." She looked back at Sara briefly. "Is... it time already?"

"It's close. I wanted to have a word before we went down, though, if that's alright?"

Ky's gaze had wandered over Sara's shoulder again to verify the hall was still empty, but now it snapped back to Sara's face. She worried her brow slightly, anxiety stabbing through her. What had she done to upset Sara? She'd literally been in her room, not bothering anyone. How could she possibly be in trouble over that? Especially given...
Had Gaius told her?
Or... was... there... something else?
"...are you upset with me?" Ky asked quietly. "I'm sorry." For what, she didn't know. But if Sara was upset with her, then she was. For whatever she'd done. Even if her only crime of the past sixteen hours was existing.

"Not at all, not at all," she said quickly. "I'm not upset. I just wanted to clarify a few things Gaius told me yesterday and check in on you..."
