Ky dipped her head. “That’s good to know; I’ll keep that in mind.”

But she damn sure wasn’t going to commit right now. Even though she knew she was going to pick Captain Bay. Or. Well. She knew she wasn’t going to pick Kazhra. And now she supposed Xander had just eliminated himself from the last little potential she’d had left for him. He wanted her to choose Captain Bay. And she would. Once she got absolutely pressed to make a decision. But she was going to delay that for as long as humanly possible. If she didn’t pick a trainer then they couldn’t force her to train.

She just had to continue playing her cards right.

Xander nodded, closing the door once everyone was through. "Do send my regards to Ka'Nor and his sister when you write next; they're good people. Brilliant strategists and fighters."

“They are,” Ky agreed. “And very good teachers as well.”

"Absolutely." His brow furrowed. "Oh dear...I wonder how this whole god thing will affect their mother's visit here."

Ky froze. Gods. Literally. The fucking gods were ruining everything for everybody.

"Hopefully the trolls don't get to her..." He grimaced. "Damn. I'd better speak to Lord Ash about sending a party out to meet her."

Ky nodded. “Or… well… maybe she won’t come if you send a letter? I’m going to send a letter to Tomhas and Anneke right now.”

"We don't know where she is right know; she's on her way here now. Probably just reached the North."

Ky nodded. “… it’s too bad we didn’t think of that before Rönn left. He could have had Zander warn her.”

"Mm. If they crossed paths. I'll have to see what Lord Ash thinks about this--if there's enough risk."

Ky nodded in agreement.

"But I'd best start gathering people." He dipped his head to Ky. "Good day; I'll see you later."

“Best of luck.” Ky nodded to him with a little smile.

“Would you like to talk to us — Ada — now or later?” Pratik asked.

"We can do this now," Ada replied. "I've got nothing going on."

He looked to Xander for confirmation.
