Ky carefully folded them, the creases crisp and perfect. Folding letters she was an expert at. She looked back at the melting wax. “It’s ready now?”

Ky took it and very slowly and hesitantly began pouring the wax, it barely more than individual droplets with how slowly she was pouring it to be sure she didn’t get too much.

“How do you know how thick for it to be?” Ky felt torn between an intense desire to stop, while knowing she needed to keep pouring before it hardened.

Ky set the wax down and picked up the seal and pressed it into the melted wax. She applied an appropriate amount of pressure but had no idea how long to hold it for.

Ky pulled the seal back up. The wax had already partially hardened and stuck to half of it, so it cracked as she pulled the seal away. She sighed in frustration.

Ky tried again, and this one was better but still nowhere close to good. She hated this. And herself. She clearly wasn't cut out for this whole noble thing. Ky looked up at Sara. "Do you want to do it?"
