"Only if you think of the mess," he pointed out. "I like to think of it as a forest. A forest of knowledge!"

“But how would you possibly find anything?” She pressed.

"Just remember where you put it or look around! If you're in a hurry that's a bit of a problem, but who's ever in a hurry to find a book?"

“Well if you need the book it’s good to know where to find it.”

"That's when you take it to your room or stack it somewhere specific." Tristan gestured to the volume of past and current Librarians. "See, if we piled some books on top of that, made the whole space more cluttered like a den, it would be perfect."

“Mm… I suppose whatever makes you most comfortable in your own home.” His own chaotic, stressful, unorganized home. That was completely unusable. And unenjoyable.

(Never expected Ky to be a neat freak but here we are haha)

(It makes sense, considering who she spent three years with)

"So!" Tristan threw himself down in one of the armchairs. "What's new, other than the end of the war and my new cousin?"

(Very true… now I gotta figure out if she was like this before lol)

“That not enough for you?” Ky asked playfully, grinning.

"Never. Like to be in the know! And there's always something going on in this family."

“True.” Ky thought for a moment. “I mean, there’s Raina. She’s perfect in all ways.”

"Gods, I can't wait to meet her." He grinned. "I haven't seen the Loquiturs in forever! Who does she most look like?"

(I'm gonna hit the hay; I've pulled two late nights in a row and my body is done. See you tomorrow!)

“Um… I… I don’t know,” she admitted sheepishly. “I never think babies look much like anyone but themselves… too smooshed at first.”

(Also I don’t think I said this but it’s perfect they’re talking about dancing. In canon Jerica talks Ky into teaching her some dances from her township before they know they’re sisters. So I also had an idea from my scheming while driving lol of it would be fun for whenever we eventually get Jerica and Ky together for them to get drunk together and then Ky try to teach Jerica to dance, and it just go wildly poorly for them and then Tomhas and/or whoever you want finds them giggling like fools over it haha)

"Fair enough. And it doesn't really matter anyway, right? She'll grow up to be her own person, eventually."

“No doubt.” Ky nodded. “Can’t wait to see it! And I’m sure the boys will love to have someone closer to their own age to play with, once she grows up a bit.”

"For sure! There's a big gap between Anneliese and Oscar and Peter, right? That's gotta be tough." He frowned. "I'm glad Lyra and Anneliese and I are at least a little close in age."
