Two Crows Watch from the Gallows Tree (part 7)

(I just now finished the exam passing was 80% and I got an 82% *sweat* since I didn't actually listen to the lecture xD and the certificate of completion is equally cringe)

"Goodbye," Ky echoed, trying to cement the word into her mind. It was nothing whatsoever. But at least now she had basic niceties to be able to greet him, which was more than she had before. She nodded to them both and took a step backward.

(Ooof)

Ivar took the lead, moving past her. May seemed to shrink back into her shell, wrapping her other arm around his as well and resting her head against him.

(I just posted it on my wall, it's so bad xD)

She missed Tadaaki. And Zander. And she had an overwhelming impulse to want to be with someone she could cling to, like May was snuggling up to Ivar. Should she go try to find one of them? Or should she just keep wandering? Or just go curl up somewhere? She wasn't sure. So she opted for wandering until she decided.

(I've got nothing in mind, tbh, but I'm down for whatever!)

(I just looked at it and my eyes bled)

(I also have nothing in particular in mind. Any of my characters who haven't been mentioned as having gone out will be present in the Keep but Gaius and Sara are gonna be in there for like another hour. The tornado moved on so I am gonna get to sleep before we have to drive another 7 hours home tomorrow. See ya!)

(Hmm we could maybe do a Ky/Ada scene? I don't really have anything specific for them to talk about, though. Just getting Ky more female friends haha)

(For sure! I'd guess Ada is probably hanging around the fifth floor or wandering outside.

Ky decided to take her wandering up to the fifth floor. Maybe talking things out with Tadaaki would make her feel better. Or maybe she’d just go lay down and marinate in existential dread for a bit. Or, well… maybe she’d see if Zander was in his room. He could probably talk her through picking out a mentor, even though she’d have to tolerate Emery being present and know that he’d report whatever she said back to Gaius. So it would be nearly as bad as figuring things out in front of Gaius himself. Which she didn’t want. So maybe… she didn’t know. She took it easy wandering up the the fifth floor, trying to decide where she wanted to land.

Ada was just leaving her room when Ky arrived on the fifth floor. She was dressed warmly in preparation for going outside, wrapped in a fur coat and holding a hat in her hands. She planned on wandering around in the small grove of trees around the back of the Keep. The snow was still something stunning to her, even after the harrowing journey through the North. It was so cold and soft, unlike anything she'd seen in the Southern Realm.

Ky stopped as she saw Ada. She was still a little intimidated by her. She seemed annoyed with Ky whenever she tried to talk to her. And Ky couldn’t help that she was stupid — it’s not like she was irritating Ada on purpose. “Oh… hi!”

Ada blinked in surprise. "Oh, hello." She paused outside her door. "How are you?"

“Doing well, and you?”

"I'm fine." She looked Ky over. She always held herself so strangely, as if she was shrinking and bluffing herself at the same time. Like she wanted to pretend confidence but didn't have the courage to do it.

“Glad to hear it.” Ky hesitated. “…What are you up to today?”

"I was going for a walk," she replied. "Not much else going on today, for me. And you?"

“About the same.” Ky hesitated, then remembered Ada could tell if she was lying. Could she tell if she was omitting then truth, too? It was better not to risk it and make her angry. “I met with potential trainers earlier. No real plan for the rest of the day.”
