Also, I’m currently working on my character, and I know you said you want this to be relatively modern; are we thinking present day, with some elements of old traditions or more old-fashioned clothing thrown in to show how old the family is, or to give off those classic mystery-type book vibes? I want to make sure we’re setting it in the modern day and our own physical world before I start to get too deep into things, because I’ve got a pretty solid idea now but I’ll need to change it if we’re thinking of doing another era.

Before I launch into character-creation...
Would an adopted child (an adult by now) be invited too?
How about a widow(er) of a family member?

@crossroads yep! I more than accept all non-blood related family members. Family is more than blood relations <3

HI HERE'S MY LATE ASS REPLY to @winterwolf0100

I am interest but I am cautious to commit because my work schedule has been astronomically nuts lately and I have time for nothing but to free-from-commitment bug this thread about aesthetic and pay attention to it because it's interesting

but I have two weeks off in a week so I'm too tempted >.<

let's say if I come up with a solid character idea, maybe

also @Vincian you already sort of asked Winter's question about aesthetic for me in the discord but it'd be good to answer it here too so correct me if you need to

I think we have modern technology and world but gothic attire is encouraged, for kind of a Gothic Timeless Mishmash look?

I'm so tempted to have a character that dresses like an Anne Rice vampire hooker but they use a chunky flip-phone because somehow the timeless mashup is even juicier to me if the technology is 90's

I'm honestly keeping appearances and styles open for everyone's input at the moment. I am loving this idea of a mix of antiquity and modern aesthetics, to give that timeless feeling. As @SirenCymbaline put it in discord at some point "we see them pull out a Nokia phone and a stopwatch in the same post" (paraphrased XD)

I was thinking of a place for this to be located. I was thinking of Brazil <-- what does everyone think? The families themselves don't have to have lived in Brazil in the beginning of this, but the calling of home could bring them to Brazil. What are your thoughts for a country to write in?

@winterwolf0100 you have submitted your character and asked for my thoughts -- I liked it! I like that they left home pretty early on. It'll be interesting to see them come back being estranged from their family too.

Heyo! I gots a question

What was Mama Odessa like, and how well would an Odessa character have known her? Have the younger Ardens heard of her or the split at all?

Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.
