someone who looked a few years older than Janus was walking by.
"There you are, Janus! I was worried sick!"
"Brother Remus!!! Look! I found a monster! His name is Pa-!"
"I don't care what his name is, little brother. I truly don't. He's a monster. You shouldn't be anywhere near him. He could hurt you."
"He's nice...!"
"Let go of him."
Janus doesn't let go. Remus goes over and pulls Janus by the ear, away from the monster. Janus's older brother spit at the monster's feet. The kind, young boy was almost in t•ars.
"...My brother is a manipulative jerk... I'm not as naive as I first let on...If he wants to hate me over being nice to a misunderstood and beautiful creature, let him. I don't care. You're just like me, Patton. Please... Let me stay with you and help you..."
"Janus, you have three seconds to get back here, or I'm leaving without you!"
Janus walked closer to Patton, ignoring his brother at this point. He clung to the monster.
Needless to say, Janus was surprised that Patton took him in. Someone who genuinely wanted to be around him? This was new... a smile spread across the child's face.
(...)
After some number of years, Janus had practically forgotten about his birth family. Patton had raised Janus as a brother, and taught him proper manners and such. Janus was about 27.
"It's a big day, my first job interview, sweet buttercups... Wish me luck, Patton."
He went over to his adoptive brother and gave him a small hug.
He let go of the hug, walking towards the edge of the forest.
"Goodbye, brother! I'll see you later!"
Little did they know, that would be the last time Janus would say goodbye to him.
when he got to his supposed "interview", he was greeted with g•ns in his face. Janus's smile faded as he slowly realized why this was happening to him. A single shot rang through the air... And right through his head.
Janus didn't come back to Patton that night.
(woooow that hurt- please let the Virgil and Patton stuff be fluffy- No more angst- ...unless you want angst, because in that case I'll do angst-)
