100 years ago, there was a monster. He was feared and hated by all... except for one. A child was walking through the woods, seeing the monster, sad and lonely.

"...Woah... What are you...?"

{I think it’d be better if we went back, like, 200 years or something, unless Janus d•es early}

Patton was the monster of the woods. People had tried to kill him for who he was, but he’d fled every time. He hated this. He hated this lifestyle. He just wanted some care. And then, Janus came along. Patton yelped at the sound, and blinked, looking down at Janus.

“...A-A... a monster...”

Janus' eyes lit up.

"really...? That's so cool...! I wanna be a monster!"

Patton was surprised. The child... hadn’t run away screaming..?

“...N...No, you... you really don’t.”

Janus tilted his head.

"Why not? You seem so cool!!! ...Can I hug you? You look fluffy!"

“...I guess..?”

He actually wasn’t too fluffy, he just had more body hair than usual. His long hair was, though.

Janus practically ran to the creature, giving him a big hug.

"My name is Janus! What's yours?"

Patton blinked. He carefully wrapped his arms around the other after a moment. Huh. This... this felt nice. He remembered the name he’d been given, about 10,000 years ago...

“...Patton.”
