So I love slice-of-life SBs, but nowadays they're very rare. I'd join in a heartbeat, but, uhhhHhh... I kinda don't know a lot about Harry Potter lol. I mean, I've watched the movies! ...like, eight years ago. >_>

But I'd still love to join if you'll have me! Just expect an extremely air-headed Hufflepuff who can never get a spell right and doesn't understand anything LOL

I have actually started a post except it's just gonna be Hablex donating a bunch of their books like a good person while also being very sad

Spring has blossomed in 2005, so I've started a spring cleaning theme! Up to you how literally you take it.
Maybe your character sorts out some old clutter in the literal sense, or maybe they simply reflect on the ways they've changed, or changes they want to make.

-2 credits for utilising the spring cleaning theme

So I'm trying to make a character but not gonna lie it's been a huge struggle because I barely know anything about the HP universe ;_; I love the idea of my character, Emma, who's going to open her own flower shop and will basically be the florist of Hogsmead, but like... idk how to make it magical. I also love the idea of her being bad at school and she only really fit into the stoner clique (lol) but again, seems too contemporary and not HP-ish.

I'm rambling now alksdfhsd but I'm conflicted because I know I'm going to struggle keeping up with HP references but at the same time...... I want to write about a wasted florist with no real ambition lol

If you would prefer to write somebody nonmagical, you can always write a Squib, which is a nonmagical child born from a magical family.

But that's not necessary if you only want a justification for a nonmagical flower shop. If you want to write a witch who's not good at magic who runs a normal flower shop, that's fine.

If you ever have any questions about the world, either, @AstralHunter knows everything and has never once told me to buzz off with the HP questions

I love the idea of Emma being a Squib! They've historically not been treated all that well, and it's especially tough for Squibs who want to be involved in the magical community, yet who are continuously looked down upon and not afforded the same opportunities.

Emma wouldn't have been able to attend Hogwarts, but since she's not a Muggle, nobody would prevent her from opening a flower shop in Hogsmeade. I mean, it could be refreshing having plants that don't try to eat you or your pets. XD

(Also, I do enjoy answering questions about the universe.)

Ooohh! now that is an idea. I read about squibs in the HP wiki page and mannnn so much hate for themmmm but it would be really interesting to take that path

on the other hand, I think it'd be rather amusing to pull a Neville but... ya know, perpetually stay bad at magic lol so much so that she can't even open a magical flower shop. plus, since the characters all know each other from school, if Emma is a squib, would they even know who she was before coming to Hogsmeade?
