Hello! Welcome to Que’s Review Corner.


I am happy to review almost anything!
Novels, short stories, and poetry are all fine by me. I will accept things like essays and scripts when needed, but I’ve had less experience with scripts and I won’t necessarily be an expert on all essay topics.

You’re welcome to bring me later chapters of a novel as well, but I won’t be able to read through all of the previous chapters so I will work with what’s in front of me.

I would prefer not to review...
...anything with excessive language, violence, or graphic details. Language is the least concerning of these, and I can take some violence, but really anything overly dark or obscene is not something I will read or review for you.

How I’ll review
If there’s anything in particular you’d like me to focus on in your piece (character, plot, flow, etc.), let me know in your post! I will be sure to address it.

I generally review with some paragraph/stanza-specific points, and then more overall thoughts, both things that could use some work and things that went well, and I try to be honest but not overly harsh.

I’ll review your piece as soon as I am able to, and generally should get to it within a few days. If something should come up and I need to delay, I’ll let you know right away.

Hi, Que. Could you review my short story 'Unbiased'? It's an entry for a contest, and I'd like to have some criticism on the following aspects:

1. The word count for the contest is 1500, and this story for now is almost 1900 words. So I'd like to know which parts in the story could be shorter.

2. The theme of the contest is: 'We will never stop fighting for this planet' - Greta Thunberg. How can young people make change happen? I'd like to know if the story is able to represent this theme well enough.

3. It'll be really helpful for me if you mention how it will do in this contest, what my chances are at winning, etc.
